"Took the wife for a weekend get-a-way.Booked a cottage in advance. The cottage was filthy upon arrival. The smell of wet dog was pronounced on the furniture and the floors were covered in hair. The bed linen was soiled and stained. We ended up leaving early due to the allergen from the dog hair/smell. Upon check out I advised the desk clerk as to why our early departure and the only concern the resort had was collecting their full share. We have visited this resort several times in the past and have never experienced these issues. Do better Stonewall."
"So many families are hitting up the indoor pools like Great Wolf Lodge over the winter time and I notice that it’s hard to relax. Stonewall Resort may not have all the slides, but it does have in indoor/outdoor heated pool with two hot tubs. Not only was there a pool, but they had a small synthetic ice rink outside. I wasn’t too fond of the $20 a person, due to my little son spending 5 minutes on it and not liking it. Other than that everything else is great about this place! Some attractions are the golf course, boat ride, canoes - all of which I am sure would be do great in the summer. For the winter the decorate the outside and interior to give you the warm fuzzy that Christmas is here. The lobby even has a huge fireplace to sit next to or take pictures with. The food is absolutely amazing for dinner. I rarely tasted something I didn’t like and the best part is you can make smores on an outdoor fire after dinner. This is my second trip with my family and my son actually requested to go there for his 6th birthday. Pets are also welcome for an additional $45 a day, so we were able to bring our dog. There were from what I saw a couple other pets there, yet I didn’t hear any of them at night. Anyway if you are in the neighborhood of West Virginia, give this place a go."
"Stonewall Resort is an amazing place if you are looking for something pet friendly. Every staff member made a fuss over my dog and gave him treats. They have clean up stations and a dog park. The trails and lake are beautiful and the pool area, patio and restaurants are very nice. It was a great place to spend the holiday. The room was decent. Nothing really special. But all of the other amenities made up for it!"
"I needed a handicap room and it was not as clean as it should have been. The room was close to the elevator which was great but also next to the pool. The smell from the pool was strong. If we were staying more than 1 night I would have requested a different room. The rest of the place was awesome. The staff and food were amazing."
"I had a great time. I got to visit some great friends who I consider family from the area. I rated this from that perspective, but there is more for others. The staff were great! It was fun driving the 2 golf carts around the golf course on our own little cruise. I showed my friends the huge fish that you can see in the marina area and where you can bring some bread or fish food to feed them. They love it, and they are cool to watch. They reach their mouths up. It's funny. We didn't get a boat ride this time, but maybe I can next time I visit. Next time I may camp there. The views are amazing from everywhere. Big mention again on the staff. The best! We didn't have time to do everything. It would be fun to go with a group. Their were lots of people there renting out the houses. Maybe for company meetings. We met some of those people in the evenings. Their are several restaurants to choose from on the property. The one on the top of the mountain was full, so I will go there again sometime. I have been their before, and it was amazing. I didn't try out the indoor/ outdoor pool, but next time, I will. Thank you again!!"
