I called and had concerns about my car prior to taking in it, Bob talked me through what it might be and the process he would take to determine what maybe needed. I dropped my car off after hours, and by 9:30 the next morning I had a quote waiting for my approval. They were fast and reasonable. I will use Tune & Torque again for all my car needs."
"The shop came highly recommended. Sadly I did not have a good experience. I called for a week or two and left messages. Got in touch with the owner who discussed the job with me. After a few days I didn’t hear back and I swung a text over to a number he provided. He messaged back he would call me the next day. He didn’t, so I called early the next business day to try to catch the shop before things got busy. When we spoke, he was very unpleasant. He explained to me he is too busy to use the telephone to call people and that it is not possible for them to stop work to call people. He suggested that I come to the shop in person and follow him around the shop while he works on other jobs to discuss my job. He then went on to start discussing his rate and the hours for the job, which gave me the impression that he did not believe I could afford the work (he kept repeating he can only come close to estimates they provide). I’m not sure why, because I hadn’t mentioned that being an issue before when I got an estimate. The whole experience was confusing. I called earlier in the year and the discussion we had was really pleasant. I’ve had parts put on my car by several local mechanics and I’ve never had an experience where the individual I spoke with seemed offended or off-put by the fact I was persistent about trying to get into the shop because they were highly recommended. I was really dissatisfied and frankly completely dumbfounded by the negative customer service experience I had. I told him the issue wasn’t money and hung up. I’m not sure what happened because like I said I heard really good things. He did call back after I hung up the phone, but at that point there wasn’t really a reason to respond because of what occurred. Naturally I won’t be taking my vehicle there and have started calling around to other shops. EDIT BASED ON OWNERS RESPONSE: Thanks for your reply. However, we never spoke on weekends. You may have me confused with someone else. Frankly that’s weird. Long story short: when customers are trying to get information about a costly appointment the main method of contact usually is a phone call. You indicated you would call me to discuss the job, didn’t call, and are trying to skate responsibility for not doing what you said. You were rude when I called back the next day. The simple answer to my inquiry is “we’re currently busy and can’t take on more jobs” not come and follow me in my shop and talk to me while I concurrently bill other customers for their work. Customers calling back after you said you would call and you didn’t are not in the wrong. Good luck in the future! I’m sure you do good work, but based on your ridiculous customer service response I felt I had to leave a review."
