"Purchased tires a while ago, and use Costco tire service for regular rotations and repair, I seem to be a nail-in-tire magnet. Like others have said, the appointments are two weeks out, lines are long. But that's not surprising. It's a 45-minute wait for eyeglasses and the parking lot is dangerously crowded. Greenville truly needs a second Costco. This one is just too busy overall, in all departments. This week I had a faulty tire sensor replaced and was told to drive 20 miles and I did, stopping to turn the car off and on a few times to give it time to read and reset. And when I returned to say it did not reset...the busy staff asked me to give it more time. So after 50 miles and two days the tire sensor was still flashing, it had not reset itself. When I returned, LJ took a tablet and ODBC cable out to my car and made it right, cheerfully. It wasn't easy (Toyota seems to be finicky) and he got it done. LJ was a huge help getting the flashing tire sensor light off and ths five-star review is specifically for him."
"I’ll start off by saying I’m well versed in working in customer service, and the majority of these tire center folks haven’t the slightest idea of how to provide a solid customer experience, or don’t care to. I have an older vehicle, and I’ve purchased two full sets of tires from Costco over the last 2 years, plus 1 or 2 replacements thrown in there. The first time I bought a set, I left my vehicle with them and they called me to tell me it was lacking “lift pads” and they outright refused to service it. I had to haul 4 tires to a local shop who put them on same day, no issue. Fast forward to summer of 2023 when I took my chances and the same Costco replaced a tire with an inner tube leak- not a word this time about not being able to lift my vehicle. Then, a week ago, that same tire they replaced less than 6 months earlier blew for no apparent reason on my work commute one morning. Dropped it off, yet again, at the same tire center. Got a call a couple hours later about not being able to lift my vehicle because it’s “lacking lift pads”. You may be able to imagine my confusion and frustration. The “manager” I spoke with was extremely condescending, didn’t care to hear about my prior experiences, and just sort of brushed me off and basically made the “missing lift pads” sound like a me problem instead of a them problem. He did agree to “try” to put the tire on, but advised if anything happened to my vehicle that “Costco wouldn’t be liable”. When I picked the vehicle up, they had been able to put the tire on. I was not told how, just that they had used other pads. I was told by him to “do some research” about the lift pads he was referring to. Likely because he didn’t know what he was talking about. He told me my other tires were nearing bald, and when I asked him if I would have the same issue with them installing 3 more tires if I bought them, he said that since they were able to lift it this time that they could probably use the same method. Being too trusting, I ordered the other tires and waited until I was off work to have them installed. Today. When they, once again, refused to put them on. Deja vú. Moral of the story; spend a bit more (or honestly, the same price) and get your tires and service at a fully fledged mechanic’s shop. I’m sure I’m not the first person this has happened to and I won’t be the last. The communication with customers is terrible, the only reason I’m giving them a second star is for the one woman I’ve dealt with there who appears to be holding everything down. This was the last time I’ll be using Costco’s Tire Center."
"Great service! Had specific instructions for new tires, using my new rims and tpms sensors, they kept me posted throughout the process and trained the new sensors (which I did not specifically ask for and was happily surprised). Everyone was very nice. Yes there is not usually someone at the desk and no one answers the phone but the online portal is great for scheduling."
"Don't waste your time here. Spend a couple dollars more and get real customer service. 11/10: wait 20 minutes in line. Get told I need run flats (which I don't) and argue until he capitulates and orders what I'm requesting. Told the tires should arrive next day. 11/11: call late afternoon and was told they'd see if they came in then call me back. No call back. 11/12: wait in line again to find out tires don't even ship on the weekend and they'd be in next day. 11/13: call and tires are in, however, their next available appt wasn't until December 11/22: back in town and have waited 20 minutes in line trying to drop my car off."
"It is impossible to get in touch with the tire department via phone. I’ve tried in three occasions for 30 minutes straight each time (every time, it transfers you back to the main line where you have to press 5 for other departments and then press 4 for the tire department). After going into the tire store in person, we waited for half an hour in line. We ordered the tires, which were a very good deal. However, we have no way of knowing when the tires will arrive, nor when we can get them put on. I tried to call for an update, but, again, waited for 30 minutes trying to get through. The customer service here is nonexistent. The tire prices are good. I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle though. Costco, please do something about this. Hire more tired employees and train them better. This is not the Costco standard that we are used to!"
