"Went with my husband to get a tattoo and we sort of had an idea of what he wanted. I started to explain what was wanted and was told by Pete that I needed to let my husband explain it since he is the one getting the tattoo. What he didn't understand is that walking into his shop was probably one of the hardest things my husband has ever done. He has wanted a tattoo for years but has not gotten up the courage to go. We have been working through those issues recently and decided a tattoo would be the first step in the right direction (hence me trying to start the conversation to get my husband comfortable). We were wrong. As my husband explained he wasn't sure exactly what he wanted (again, we had a rough idea but my husband thought he needed an exact picture of what was wanted), Pete said "then you aren't ready for a tattoo" and that he has been doing this for 29 years and knows when someone is ready and when they aren't. My husband, to my surprise, kept talking to him about what he wanted and showed him a few ideas on his phone. This was the experience we wanted to avoid and I was hoping a brand new shop ran by a man with so many years of experience would be the best place to start. I'm sure we looked young and like newbies to him (I have two tattoos, but this wasn't for me) and that is probably why we were dealt with the way we were. We are 32 years old with a child, both have reputable careers and simply wanted an easy going conversation with a tattoo artist. Needless to say we will not be going back and will not recommend him to anyone. I am very sad, upset and disappointed. I understand he was giving his opinion but there was no reason to be so rude to another person."
