Reviews of Discovery Zone Kids
"My son has been in the one of the Pre-K classes since August and we are enjoying this preschool. Everyone is friendly and everyone is super responsive on their app. My son looks forward to going to school and has had a great year of learning. Special shout out to Mrs. Quita!"
"Update: You never met this man and no one checked his ID. No one knew him. He is not local and has never stepped foot into your facility until that day. He could have been a predator and taken ANY one of those kids. Didn’t find my old review so I will review again. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!! They do not check ids and allowed my ex, who they never met, to pick out a child (the teacher didn’t know whose kid was his so they allowed him into the class and take whatever child he chose) police report was filed and also a report with bright from the start."
"I switched my daughter out of this pre-k due to the fact that they are under investigation and may close due to child abuse findings from one of their ex-employees. The thing that puzzles me is the abuse took place in November but was brought to light in January. I read the findings on the state website and was just shocked that nobody had seen or reported this lady sooner. I can't imagine that she was the only employee in the classroom where someone else didn't witness the abuse. They were asking parents to sign a petition on their behalf but my husband and I couldn't in good conscience do that, no matter how convenient this location was for us. I remember a co worker telling me she pulled her child out of the daycare in the summer because they were feeding the kids ramen noodles and watching too much tv, but I thought pre-k will be different and better structured. We paid $30/wk for food. The owner mentioned that they don't do the food program because it's too much paperwork for a little bit of money. The pre-k I was able to get my daughter into is wonderful it's just a little bit further, they do the food program and have variety when it comes to their meals and its free. They check temperatures every morning and they don't have a lot of foot traffic inside the facility. They walk your child back to their respective classrooms and there is always someone at the front desk. DZK is conveniently located but don't let convenience cause you to compromise good morals and decency when it comes to the safety of children. My child was not abused but I can't turn a blind eye just because it's someone else's child."
"I didn’t hear/read great things about this center but I figured I would stop by and meet the director and see the classroom for my self over the summer. Both ladies were friendly and explained the turnover issues and said it didn’t impact much of the PreK side. I was excited for my daughter to start her first day today but was concerned after she was picked up. I had her bring a backpack the first day because of all supplies she needed to bring in but I understood the no backpack policy. She was not allowed to keep her water bottle with her either. There was no carline at pick up and no tags handed out, we had to go in and pick her up. The classroom was hot and stuffy with fans running. She was beat red with sweat dripping down her face and looked exhausted. I knew that two days earlier at open house they had the same situation but the teacher reassured us that the AC would get fixed before first day of school. They neglected to notify parents that the repairs weren’t completed in time and children still came to class that day only to be crammed into a hot classroom of 24 people. It was 100 degrees out today. I am beyond disappointed and angry. This should have never occurred in a facility that is supposed to put the kids safety first. After speaking to the director she acknowledged that she should have notified parents before kids were dropped off but didn’t want to inconvenience those who depended on childcare. That is an unacceptable to assume such a thing and not give the parents a choice and keep us informed so we can make the best decision for ourselves. I will be filing a formal complaint."
"My daughter has been attending DSZ since she was 5 weeks old. She is now 2.5 years old. This center has been very accommodating for any of our needs, dietary restrictions, and potty training. It’s a great comfort to see how exciting your child gets to go to “school” everyday to see her teachers and friends. The management have grown over the last couple of years. They are open to suggestions and are very approachable when I need to chat. I would suggest them to anyone who wants a family environment for their childcare needs."
