"I wish I could give this company less than a 1 because communication and attentiveness is the worst. I applied on 7/22 and was denied for something that I was able to fix later on, but that’s not the issue. They said that you would receive your administrative fee in 30 days by check, but of course I’ve yet to receive it. I’ve made calls after calls leaving messages with their answering service-and was always promised that someone from the office would reach out to me, but that never happened. After a while of calling I finally reached someone in the office (in August), the woman informed me that my refund was never processed. So she tells me that she would get with the person that processes them and have them issue my refund as soon as possible. Well obviously that never happened because here it is November and I still have not received my money back. I am at the point where I want to seek legal counsel because this is frustrating and stressful. I shouldn’t have to keep calling for something that you KNOW is owed to me. I posted this because apparently this is the only way to get some kind of response from them. Hopefully this is resolved soon or else I’m taking it to the next step."

"STAY AWAY! Look at all the ONE STAR REVIEWS! Let that tell you everything you need to know! This place is gross. The people that work there are just looking for a check.They do not care about you, your hard earned money or your living arrangements. Be prepared to never get a definite answer by anyone. I’ve been waiting on a 30 day refund???? THATS UNHEARD OF. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to stay at my parents house in Summerville. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT DONT HAVE FAMILY OR FRIENDS NEAR BY!!! Where would they stay??? Waiting on a $3,000+ refund from an apartment complex that I never slept in!! Roach infested unit! This place is a DUMP! the only space that’s been renovated is THE LEASING OFFICE! They’re offering units for CHEAP for a reason!! It’s GARBAGE."

"Updated 8/23 We were refunded the balance after more phone calls and e-mails. Thank you. Updated on 7/24- The response we received to this review indicates that they haven’t received our email but we had sent an email to the exact same address as management indicated below. I just resent it! We look forward to hearing from them! —-So glad our kids never moved in here! We've left messages and nobody has returned them. Our debit card got charged over $360 even though the application was NEVER submitted (how is this even possible?!!!) and we have been unable to cash the refund check because it was issued to 3 parties who do not have a common bank account... We visited a "model apartment" and even that one smelled of mold. We were told there's only 1 maintenance person... Shame on the owners/ management of these units!"

"DO NOT APPLY HERE!! If I could give negative stars- I would. I have been put in the worst position possible due to the lack of communication and professional of the staff at palmetto grove. I am relocating because of a job offer. They understood I had very limited time to find a place and move. I was told many times that it was no problem at all, the application process would be fast and communication would follow up asap. FALSE. I applied and was denied due to my credit only, nothing else. Then after speaking with a staff member I was told I could add a guarantor. My mother then filled out an application and added herself as a guarantor. I heard nothing for 48 hours. I called every 30 minutes for 2 days. No answer. I sent emails, called the 3rd party call center-they sent email after email marking it high priority. I still hear nothing. It’s now 2 days until I have to be in Charleston. I call again, finally someone answers. They NEVER even ran the application. So now I wait all day to hear the results of the application. 5 hours later-I’m told I can’t even have a guarantor and that I’m out of luck. I should have been told this from the very beginning instead of waiting days thinking I’m all good for move in because my guarantor meets all qualifications. I am now starting a job in 2 days and live 4 hours away. I believe this is a blessing in disguise after reading all of the countless 1 star reviews this company has. Please, if you are considering living here. Do not waste your time. Please consider the many many other reviews of horrible service this complex offers. As for the people that work at palmetto grove, you should find a different job because you are horrible at what you do."

"Looks NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES or MODLE APARTMENT. Just moved in and this is the master bedroom door. German Roaches in all the bedrooms and kitchen. The smell is horrible! Balaclava mold on all the vents and the A/C unit is covered in black mold. I would be appalled if I owned or operated these apartments. $1900 a month and I feel like I’m living in slums of a 3rd world country. The bathroom might as well be a hole in the floor."
