Reviews of River Crossing Apartments
"All I can say is wow... I'm left speechless by how terrible the management is here. So many residents warned us about living here as we were touring the complex and would yell out to warn us. Even as we were going over the lease at the management building, a girl handing off her keys told us "good luck living here" and Bobby scoffed at her and told us sorry about that when she was actually right for what she said and he has a lot more serious matters that he should apologize to us for. We were lied to about what unit we were going to be moving into, the wrong hose was purposely put into the stove so we had a gas leak in the house, our tub wasn't finished when we moved in and had to wait 2 months before having access to the shower, nails were sticking out all over the porch which almost got by daughter stabbed, they purposely turned off the switch that allows for cold water so me and my baby got burned when we turned on the water and muchhhhhhhh more. They suddenly stopped taking money orders as we were trying to hand them payment for that month and wouldn't accept the several other previously accepted methods to pay and made us pay crazy late fees when they caused us to be late. We couldn't take living here anymore and had to break the lease. We had called corporate and were made to believe we were ok to move out and paid our rent up to date in addition to not receiving our security deposit back as penalty for breaking the lease but then they started trying to charge us for upcoming rent/ fees after we had already moved out. We have not lived there in months and they had already accepted our keys back and finalized everything. Now they are attempting to send a ridiculous amount owed to a collection agency with fake charges. We are now going to have to spend the money to get a lawyer. Please don't be like us and ignore the warnings of the residents, do not move here!"
"Believe all of the 1 & 2 star reviews. Add $100 to the rent they advertise after all the fees. Fleas when I first moved in. (And a $250 vet bill) Cockroaches after that. (Prob another $250 of eating out because i was too grossed out to eat there. I’m talking 50 mini roaches scattering when I turned on my kitchen light. Mold they claim is dust. Broken promise after broken promise. (Reserved parking spot-never happened, Pool by Summer- literally took a year and a half. This past Summer I asked the leasing manager when the pool was open and he said “Summer”, I said “Summer is almost over!?” And he snapped back “It’s halfway over.” ….pool ended up opening at the end of October. Like, I know I can be a smart aleck, but we all pay a lot of money to live here (my 2br rent is $1500 before utilities)…and I’m just mad. I feel like everyone who lives here deserves one free months rent. Or a grace lease renewal with no rent increase. I’m sure most everyone living here would have good reason to receive that. I wish other residents could comment on this review because I’m certain we would swap horror stories. Endless unanswered emails. Broken heat and AC (it flip flops between the two but it’s been ongoing for a year now.) The one good thing I will say is the maintenance team as ALWAYS been amazing. They use the cheapest materials possible (but that’s not their fault, that’s operational), but they’re nice and I trust them with my animals and that’s a really big deal for me. They really are awesome. 5 stars to maintenance. Zero if I could to the complex. It really shows how bigger companies take advantage of people. They’re trying to make the most money while spending the least, and really don’t care who they are bruising while on that path. I’m sure the managers here are given impossible budgets and everyone is just a little bit underpaid. Do better. People feeling safe in their homes creates a impactful societal change that we could all use nowadays. I hope more landlords and commercial real estate executives could look past their greed and contribute to community. Until then, to the person reading this scrambling to find an affordable apartment, look elsewhere. You can do better too."
"Definitely unorganized management. Me and my fiancé lived there for a year 2022-2023, popcorn ceiling was coming apart. Corner of our bedroom ceiling was leaking water and collapsed. Also you can see it was mold around that area. Bathroom ceiling was poorly. Maintenance did poorly on fixing it. On top of that management didn’t give our deposit back and saying they used it for rent because we messed a month but we actually didn’t and we have all the bank statements that shows we paid on time and never missed a payment. Definitely don’t recommend renting from here."
"Management shows more concern for lining their pockets than resident satisfaction Been a resident two years. I will not be making the mistake of renewing again. Here’s my experience Moved in 2021, fleas were in the apartment 2021-2023 inside of my apartment regularly smells like cigarettes and pot from neighbors smoking inside. Reached out several times about this, never addressed nor fixed April 2022, management tears down pool (rather than starting in the winter, they started at the beginning of summer). Promises it will be completed by May 2022. It’s now may 2023 and the pool is an incomplete skeleton of cinderblock and concrete May 2022, shortly after tearing down pool, management increases rent $300/month with only a two month notice May 2022, air conditioning goes out. Reached out to maintenance multiple times, showing that internal temperatures of the apartment reached 90+ degrees during the day and 80+ degrees during the night. Over a 7 day period, after reaching out multiple times, never heard from management. After informing them I’d be reporting it to the city for code violation, it was fixed May 2023, informed of $60/month rent increase with only a two month notice again (a total of $360/month increase in the span of 1 year) Cracks in the wall have been worsening between the ceiling and door frames. Popcorn ceiling is falling off in chunks Very disappointed by this place seeing how it is in such a great location and has a tremendous amount of potential. The ownership should be embarrassed"
"I lived at river crossing from 2020-2022. Paid my rent on time every time. I was patient and polite with the people in the office and maintenance even after things such as a gas leak for MONTHS, a MUSHROOM growing out of the bathroom ceiling with mold covering the entire ceiling, roach infestation on move in day and much much more. And now, after just about 100 days after my lease end date, I still have not received my deposit back. I have emailed, called, even sent in a message on their online portal through their website. I received one response on September 13th, 2022 from a Bobby Poore stating they had received my new address to send my deposit to and never heard anything back. I am 100% positive there is no reason to withhold my deposit and will be taking legal action if this issue is not resolved. I’m not one to write a review on anything, good or bad (TERRIBLE in this case), but seeing as this is the only platform you people respond on I thought I’d give it a shot."
