"Listing was fake and false. Before we paid our deposit, Mark was professional and normal. After we put the deposit down, he became aggressive, rude, unprofessional, and childish. That prompted us to do some digging and found out more about his past criminal activity, lawsuits, and scams. It was too late, as we had already paid. We confronted him and demanded our deposit back, to which he threatened us with legal action because we had signed a contract. He admitted that he does this all the time. We were loaded up in a UHaul and on the road to Savannah when we were dealing with all of this, so we paid an additional deposit to break the lease, and found a new place to live. We plan on following suit with small claims. DO YOUR RESEARCH. TAKE THESE REVIEWS SERIOUSLY."

"DO NOT RENT WITH LOW COUNTRY RENTALS! We co-signed a lease with our son - he is a student at SCAD. We signed the lease, paid the deposit. He left from Phoenix, az to drive to savannah, Ga. about 7 hours in to the drive he received a call from Mark Dewitt, the owner of Low Country Rentals who said the apartment didn't pass zoning so he can't move in. He offered no accommodations during the issue. He deactivated his account with Low Country Rentals as well. I called Mark to figure out what was going on. Mark became belligerent, rude, cussing and yelling at me. Offered no apology. Took no responsibility. We didn't even know the house was needing to be zoned. He won't take our phone calls and has yet to refund our money or offer us any reasons for this abrupt change in situation We were dumbfounded. I should have done a little more research on Mark Dewitt. I see he has been sued by the city of Savannah and has many issues with tenants. DO NOT RENT WITH LOW COUNTRY RENTALS!"

"I moved all the way from New York to an illegal not up to code home and then was told i cannot stay there anymore so i had to move within the one month of living there and am not receiving my deposit back, so far everyone i have spoke to locally in Savannah has had the same exact experience. This is a total scam and he turns off your utilities when he gets Angry as a form of control. Extremely traumatic experience, not to mention numerous threats and manipulation on the owners behalf and his “ propert managers” . Slum lord is a term i use instead of land lord for this man. The house was dirty when we moved in and had someone illegally living in the back like all the properties he rents to get double the worth for houses in the hood. Stay as far away as you can from this scam i wish i never gave them the benefit of the doubt"

"Mark Dewitt ripped me off for $2000.I applied for a rental in Athens Georgia on Feb 1st 2021 175 Herman ST. Athens 30601.He made me apply online without seeing the house first.He said I would have to "act fast and send a deposit of $2000 within 30 minutes or he would rent it to someone else.He could not personally show me the house because he was out of town... When I paid the deposit he sent me a lease 2 seconds later...I drove by the house and it was occupied.someone was living in the backyard in a tent!..I called Mark Dewitt and kindly explained I did not feel comfortable about the transaction..The house was also completely misrepresented.The driveway did not have space for 2 cars.I own 2 cars..He started laughing at ma and said" I am keeping your deposit$2000 and I am going to sue you for everything you have!!! He is the biggest psychopath I have ever encountered...It had not even been 24 hours and he is telling me hes going to sue me,ruin my credit and keep my $2000..Then he called the police.DO NOT! do business with Low Country Rentals.They are completely fraudulent.As of right now.Mark Dewitt owes me$2000 and hes not trying to give it back.BEWARE."

"I was extremely happy with this company, I was looking to rent a condo with the possibility of allowing a pet. The office staff agree to check with the different owner to verify this could be done. Even though I was unable to rent because of this reason, they did call me at a later time to tell me they have a condo they wanted to show me. Sad to say, I had already found one but impressed I got a call after the fact. Thank you for your reach out."
