"Military housing has its ups and downs."
"26 years in the military and i have NEVER EVER seen this kind of laziness and disregard for base security! You don't need your actual ID to get on this base! They do not check them anyways! We have been coming through the main gate all week and every single gate guard except for one female, has scanned a United States Retired Naval Officer ID and only the female has shown enough respect to salute! All the other gate guards just scan the ID and as long as their trusty computer tells them the ID is good, they just let you roll on through. So we did a test and started giving the gate guard any valid id. You can give them someone else ID that is not even in the car with you and again, they scan with their handheld computer and as long as the computer says ok, they say ok too. Not one single other verification! So much for operational security! As a note, 2 people standing at the gate. The one female scans the id, verifies the actual ID to the driver who is presenting it. She notices retired officer. She respectfully salutes. Person standing directly next to her does nothing. Looks like a deer in the headlights. His brain skips a beat. Smokes starts coming from his ears and nose. He looks lost and clueless. We drive away and he still looks like the marines have not taught him how to function properly on his own. Hopefully he is not still lost. I have not seen him again since that day... I hope the United States Marines offer better security on this base moving forward. If not, I am sure we can get a Navy MA to show them how to do their job properly! After all, marines have a problem functioning without constant instruction!"
"Terrible experience and would never live on base housing after living at this place. They will not fix anything so unless you are a lizard and like your home at 80 degrees and humid (mildewing inside) i suggest living anywhere else. They expect you to follow their ridiculous rules about mowing lawns and HOA style rules but won't fix anything."
"Go elsewhere. Still experiencing hardship thanks to the incompetence of Laurel Bay and Tri Command housing."
