"While passing through the Charleston area I detoured from my route and visited the Low Country Coins store in North Charleston. There is a lot of stuff to browse through and they have a great selection of coins and other collectibles. Too bad I couldn’t stay as long as I wanted. Selena was very helpful in regard to my bullion transaction. Bill was on-point in regard to a coin from my collection which I needed his expertise on. John was an amazing source of numismatic knowledge and assisted me with various coins. Although I only purchased one coin, which will be a gift to a relative, my overall experience was very positive and I would like to pay another visit to the Low Country Coins store again in the future/someday. I recommend this store for any avid collector/stacker/numismatist."
"Great selection of coins, bullion and paper notes. Very informative staff. The young man that helped and served me was very helpful and knowledgeable despite the reviews saying the younger staff is rude. If anything they’re quite nice and helpful. 10/10 will be returning."
"Good evening John. My name is Kenneth Moon and when my father (Local Celebrity) Dan Moon past I was left a coin collection that he spent quite some effort to obtain. I was left instructions by him before he passed to sell them so me and my two boys can be comfortable. I'm a single father that was taking advantage of at low country coins. The gentleman's name is Bill and they're in the shopping center across from Northwoods Mall next to where the Toys r Us was located. I took the coins in there and actually sold them. Bill informed me that they're only worth about $750 and he would give me $500 for them. I reluctantly agreed. After a conversation with a friend of mine explaining what I did he expressed interest in the coins. I showed him photographs of several of them as a matter of fact all of them and he informed me that their worth thousands of dollars and for someone to do that to anyone is worthy of a criminal complaint along with the better Business bureau being advised. The coin dealer Bill at low country coins is in the business of selling and buying coins. He most certainly knew exactly what he was doing when he took advantage of me and scammed me out of my father's coin collection. I've been duped by an unscrupulous business. I'd like to sincerely ask if there's any chance at all with a public's help get them back. I will glad to give him his $500 that he paid for them. He won't answer my calls he will not return my messages nothing. Can you please help me. And if not just for me it's for the other people out there he takes advantage of. I'm sure I'm not the only one."
"I would only have to give it a 2 star rating. I started collecting 2019-2020 time frame and was stationed in charleston. This was the first shop i really went to and as a young collector i soaked up any information i could from this shop i did a good bit of business here and while there prices aren’t bad when it came to selling stuff and knowing what i know now i can definitely tell they got over on me on more than a few occasions. Being younger and not knowing a lot about coins at the time i can tell they took full advantage of that. Ive now traveled over 23 states and went to multiple coin shops and this one still sticks out as the one who i feel i got robbed from a lot lol. So for buying ehh they’re decent prices not the best but okay. For selling trust me do your research before you sell something. Silver coins do not sell for spot so don’t sell to them for spot. Gold coins do not sell for spot so don’t sell to them for spot. If you have a proof set they do not sell for 91 cents like they pay sell for a couple dollars. Anything graded do not sell below market value. Make sure you do plenty of research before dealing with blood sucking dealers trust me they always will offer bottom dollar to make there profits. Sincerely “The young kid with all the tattoos” Edit since the owner responded. I’m not Navy for one i’m military also Airforce. Nobody is scared to use there name… My names John livingston google me facebook me whatever you feel you need to do. How about just take criticism from customers and quit trying to prove a point. I appreciate your service and hope the best for you brother. Don’t take my experience to heart man it’s really not that serious and telling me i’m not longer welcomed is fine man i really don’t care about it that much. I don’t know what the military had to do with my review at all. If it’s that serious to you man i don’t mind talking about it off of a review post."
"I have been updating my coin collection for years with Low Country Coins. The staff is always friendly and professional, but most of all, knowledgeable. There is a large variety of items in the store like paper money, antique collectibles, shiny stones, medals, coin collecting supplies, Liberty nickels, silver quarters, Kennedy half dollars, proof and regular pennies, wheat cents, buffalo nickels, US Mint sets in the packaging, Morgan Dollars, Barber dimes & quarters, foreign coins & paper money, gold & silver, along with so many other beautiful coins! They can tell you what your old coins are worth. I have found that the prices in the store accurately reflect what the actual value of coins is according to The Red Book. They always know when the next coin show in town will be. I will continue to shop with Low Country Coins in the future and recommend them to anyone looking to expand their coin collection or sell their silver coins. 5 Stars!!"
