"PARENTS, ELDERS, AND ANYONE WITH SOME SENSE- DO NOT MOVE TO HAWTHORNE AT SIMPSONVILLE!!! I have been here almost two years and I FULLY regret the decision of moving here in the first place. I moved here from STL in hopes of getting my child away from the crime. This place makes me feel like I am back home in STL! The new management is horrible!! Alana, Sharon, and Sycha will talk to you like a child with no education. Any issue you have they will fight you about it. My apartment along with my neighbors flooded on the first floor-while they were aware of the potential issue I may have had. No one ever came to check to see if there was an issue with my apartment. I had to fight them for a good week to get moved to a different apartment and the only reason they did that was because I threatened to sue. That was a major hassle within itself. Noisey!! Walls VERY thin! There is NO reason I should hear my neighbors downstairs on the third floor. There are dogs that bark/fight at 234567am . Cars speeding through the parking lot with loud music. DRUG BUST (two that I know of and saw with my own eyes) One was actually in my building happening when I returned home. Pretty sure there are drug dealers in every building. Trash!! Valet trash is a hit or miss. There is ONE trash compactor on the property and it’s either full or broke. They constantly harass us with emails threatening to charge us if we leave our trash outside of the broken compactor or outside our apartment when valet isn’t running. Trash constantly in the breeze ways. Nobody picks up after their pets. I can smell the dog park while on the playground. Last but certainly not least. The insulation!! I have to turn my heat up to 80 in order for my entire apartment to get warm!! If you have NO choice DO NOT let them put you in the 5001 building!!! It’s very much ghetto! For the rent to be as high as it is. We’re suppose to feel safe, property should always be clean and amenities should always work at the very least. I want nothing more than to move out of Hawthorne at Simpsonville and if the fees weren’t so high I would break my lease! The absolutely worst apartments I’ve ever lived in!!"

"I never write negative reviews, but these have been BY FAR the worst apartments I've ever lived at. The valet trash service that I pay for is very inconsistent and when the valet service doesn't pick up the night before they threaten you with a $25 fee the very next morning. The neighbors smoke weed at all times of the day. I had a flat tire on my truck and they towed it to Laurens, SC which is 30 minutes away from the apartment complex and it was a $300 tow and I still have to fix the flat on top of that all but 2 days before the overpriced rent is due. If you are thinking about moving here save yourself time, energy, and money and just don't move here."
