"The place is nice looking, great floor plans and spacious apartments. But the roaches and the bugs make it impossible to live there. TOO many, and they'll tell you to wait, and it will get better as they spray their pest control chemicals. But it's been a month and the same thing. I am moving asap. Edit Update: I MOVED!!! I followed the law strictly. I gave them "Notice of Material Breach of Lease and Request for Remedy" according to the South Carolina Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, specifically S.C. Code § 27-40-610(a), a tenant has the right to give written notice specifying a material breach of the lease or a condition that materially affects health or safety within the premises. They had 14 days to resolve the issue. I'm not sure what happened to my photos, so I added them back. Roach infestation, I had to sue them to get out of the lease and get my security deposit and prorated rent back. They kept saying, "Regional Manager will call because we aren't authorized to break your lease or reimburse your fund's. Oh, and if you dont pay the fee for breaking the lease within 30 days, then it will go to collections. " I gave them the benefit of the doubt, I waited to hear from their "Regional Manager. " it's been over a month, and I never received a phone call. They tried to keep my money and make me pay a fee of a whole months rent, on top of that, to break the lease. They tried to make me sign some papers I refused to sign. I filed a lawsuit with Spartanburg County magistrate court, and what do you know? They finally had time in their "super uuper duper busy schedule" to respond. Asking me to dismiss the case and that they would give me my security deposit back, my rent, and let me out of the lease. If you have any problems, try the Spartanburg County Magistrate court, AND MAKE SURE you make them pay you back for the court fees. I have never dealt with a worse management company. Also, make sure to take pictures. They will try their best to gas light you and say, "Well, pest control didn't see any roaches when they went there", take as many pictures as possible, and send them every single picture. Keep proof of all correspondences. Do not let them spray their pest chemicals without proof. They will try to pretend you never requested pest control. Keep proof of everything. Good Luck!"
"About a year before the pandemic hit, I lived here for 14 months. The place was not cleaned and there were a few things that needed repairing. When I emailed my issues to the leasing agent who placed me, she was very apologetic. Maintenance came and fixed those things. Even if the place was clean, I would have still cleaned again, so I didn’t have it done/redone but it was offered. The kitchen was a bit small but I managed. There are water/palmetto bugs even with their exterminator coming. Not sure if it’s just the first floor units or what, but even one is too much for me and there were definitely more than just one. When my lease was done, I unfortunately left due to a quality of life issue. I may still be living there but the people who moved in above me were extremely loud and I couldn’t get consistent sleep at any time of the day. The walls and floors are very thin, but the amount of banging and all other types of things being dropped thrown or whatever was just beyond ridiculous. The community can be entered by anyone so there were a couple times I know my car had been rummaged through. I keep nothing of value in there, but it was definitely noticeable. Someone even stole the hose at the carwash port they have. I had no issues with the leasing office. I would recommend them."
"The Berry Shoals staff is so friendly and always willing to help! My family and I have never had an issue getting anything resolved. Carleigh, the property manager, is very professional and understanding of situations. Berry Shoals is a beautiful community with even better employees! After shopping around, I found that Berry Shoals has fairly priced rent for the area! I always recommend Berry Shoals to all of my friends looking for an apartment!"
"This place is amazing! Not only are the apartments cozy and homey, but very clean and a part of a very respectable community. I felt at home during the tour alone ! Alana gives a beautiful tour and she made me laugh the entire time, she's so fun! We also talked to Carleigh and Ashley, What a great staff! I cant wait for my family to start our next chapter at Berry Shoals!"
