"Alycia and team were very thorough and accommodating prior to my arrival and, to be sure, the apartment I rented for a 3+ week business trip was lovely. Unfortunately, it was also located immediately above another apartment that seemed to be the central location for some sort of trafficking operation. After staying in the apartment for about a week, I noticed a steady flow of automobiles enter the complex and park directly under my apartment window and immediately next to my car (the spots are dedicated per unit). Sometimes the men (it was always men), would linger in their cars, creepily staring into apartments, including mine, late into the night. Other times they would swiftly enter the apartment below mine, stay for a short period of time - presumably visiting the two young women who took residence there - and hastily leave. I never saw the same car twice and, over the course of the only weekend I spent there, I must have seen 10-15 such instances. I alerted Alycia and team, asking whether she had familiarity with the unit owners below. She said she did and offered to reach out to find out what exactly was going on. I asked her not to, seeing as how I suspected something nefarious was going on and I did not want to be anywhere near the situation when she and the other unit owner indeed found out what that was. Instead, I asked her to help find me alternative accommodation, which she wasn't immediately able to do. I volunteered to find as much for myself for the remaining term of my work trip and to have L&M reimburse me for any cost difference I would have to absorb. Alycia agreed. After that call, the traffic beneath my window continued, culminating with the arrival in the suspect apartment of a third young woman carrying a suitcase. I texted Alycia a listing on VRBO for an apartment I found. She never addressed whether she'd be willing to accommodate. So, I decided not to wait any longer, hastily packed my stuff and just got myself out of there. I relocated to a hotel and eventually heard back from Alycia by text, informing me that she had indeed reached out to the other unit owner, despite my request not to. Nevertheless, the other unit owner was well aware of "issues" with the tenants in question and was working urgently to remove them prior to their lease expiration. And, as luck would have it(!), that lease expiration was the very next day. At what point prior to the next day these people were supposed to be evicted remains a mystery. But, at Alycia's word, I was supposed to just stay in the apartment and hope for the best. I informed Alycia of the third young woman taking up residence in the apartment below and expressed my suspicion that, indeed, none of them would be gone by the next day. I reiterated that there was no way I was staying in that apartment any longer, and especially so given the known 'issues' that the unit owner has had with the tenants s/he was so far unable to get out of the apartment below. I requested a full refund of the prepaid amount, noting that I was put into a unit with a known hazard and didn't appreciate as much. Alycia asked me for photo or video proof of the 'suspicious activity' about which we spoke, later claiming that my failure to do so was sufficient reason for them to deny my request for a refund. I tried calling L&M twice so as to speak about the matter and remind them of the offer for reimbursement. No one picked up the phone, nor returned my phone calls. Alycia did take to texting me, however, claiming that the issues I faced were not her agency's problem and did not "affect my use of the apartment" L&M rented to me. And besides, I provided them no evidence of the behavior in question. I explained - again, by text - that asking me to film people engaged in potentially illegal activity just below where I sleep is not a reasonable request, and invited her and her team to purchase and install a Ring doorbell camera if they are so inclined. No one at L&M has called or responded to requests to discuss and I suspect they never will."
"Alycia was such a pleasure to work with! I had to stay in the rental for quite some time and she always made sure I was well taken care of. Anything that would come up, she was quick to assist. The rental was well furnished and I never had a problem while there!!"
