"I have lived here for about five and a half years now. This is a budget friendly complex for sure, but if you follow the rules and keep your unit clean, you won't have any problems. It has been completely safe in the five years I have been here. We have some cops that live here and the community is friendly. If you need anything maintenance related, Shawn is the perfect person. Lisa handles most of the fine print and I always go to her when needed. This is my home and I make the most of what I have for such a low rent."

"Appletree Apartments is good if you’re looking for a place on a budget. It’s cheap, relatively quiet, and the studio apartments are cozy. However, with quality and management, you get what you pay for. The condition of the apartments isn’t great and there isn’t much upkeep or maintenance. Also speaking as objectively as possible, the property manager Hart is a complete (insert profane expletive here). He does what needs to be done, but he is very short with you if it inconveniences him or if you have multiple issues. Don’t be surprised if he gets a temper with you or just hangs up in the middle of a call. That’s not hyperbole, the guy is not professional at all. I imagine he’s seen it all after years of working as a property manager for a budget complex and it has probably worn him down, but that’s no excuse. I only mention this because I know that dealing with unruly management is a big deal-breaker when it comes to apartment hunting for some people, and he’s the guy you’re going to be dealing with 90% of the time. So if you plan on renting a cheap apartment here, just hope you don’t have many problems. If you’re used to better quality services, don’t expect much from Appletree. Hart will just suggest that “maybe this isn’t going to work out” and make it seem like you’re the problem. Also, be aware that Hart is the property manager for the other Top of the Hill Clemson apartment complexes around the Central/Clemson area."

"DON'T STAY HERE! Extremely UNCLEAN and in very poor condition. BUG INFESTED. UNSAFE. Windows do not lock, apt was obviously broken into and the broken-in door was left unrepaired. The LANDLORDS are LIARS and THIEVES."
