"This morning, I called this office to determine if my husband, who I am separated from, had previously had our taxes filed here. If he had the taxes filed at this office, I had intentions of using them this year as I have been pleased with them in the past. The person who answered the phone did not give her name and did not speak clearly. She also seemed very confused when I asked if they would have records of our taxes being done there previously. Since she seemed so confused by my inquisition, I confirmed that I was calling a CPA firm. This time she repeated the name of the firm more clearly. Then, the lady put me on a fairly lengthy hold without taking down any identifying information. When she returned, she informed me that she would not be able to give me any information on if my husband had filed taxes there since he filed separately. I explained to this woman that he would have filed the taxes jointly and that I never made any mention that he would have filed them separately. At that point, the woman asked for my name which I gave her. She spelled my name back to confirm and spelled back a completely different name. Once I spelled my name for her, she said “I’m really just not sure what you’re wanting to know right now.” I informed the woman that I was trying to confirm that my taxes had been filed there previously because I had planned on using the same place to file my taxes this year, but since she is so confused and unable to help I would take my business elsewhere. TLDR: The person that answers the phone is so incompetent it was not worth my time to explain to her repeatedly what I needed."

"We had a terrible experience with this accountant. Overcharged and falsified time it took to complete forms for us. He used the incompetent women in his office as a shield to keep from having to deal directly with his clients. Uses his religion as a facade for the way he actually does business. When the IRS came knocking they cowered down and refused to represent us or to even talk to them after keeping our books for several years. We now do our own books for less money and greater accuracy."

"Horrible experience with him and his staff. He took four months to file a simple form that turned out to be prepared incorrectly. He offered to fix the mistake and told me he would be done in a couple of days. Another four months later he still wasn't done. I picked up my things only to be treated horribly by his rude secretaries. We sued him in small claims court and obviously won, however he refuses to acknowledge the judgement ordered against him and has no business assets to go after. Don Stephens is grossly incompetent, unbelievably slow, and he and his staff are disgustingly unprofessional. I have no idea how he still has a license. Please do not waste your time or money on this man."
