"Dr. St. John Gay has been at this racket since the 1990's. She prescribed Depakote 300 for me. I was a petite young woman of 120 pounds or less at the time. My weight increased 40 pounds in a matter of two weeks. She did not warn me of any side effects. It took me 20 years to finally get the weight off. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I left her practice soon after the weight gain. It destroyed me at the time. She didn't start with a low dose. Later, I was told that I was medicated like a patient that was committed to an institution. I could barely function in my day- to- day life. I felt worse after visiting her. I took me years to finally feel like myself. I do not recommend her at all. Think twice before you seek her out for treatment."

"Was going to her for awhile. She doesn’t put off a caring vibe. I told her I couldn’t afford to pay her directly anymore and the receipts she was providing didn’t work for my insurance so I’m out a lot of money. Asked her to refer me somewhere else and she will not return my phone calls AT ALL. This has been such a disappointing experience."

"I recently came to South Carolina to assist my son. I have been on Klonopin for many, many years. I went to a psychiatrist because I was told to by physician's. It was normally prescribed by my primary physician in Texas. Dr. Gay was very rude to me that first visit. She would ask me a question then not give me time to answer. She told me that she did not want to prescribe it for a month. She didn't know me. So she did 7 days. Keep in mind that I am here to help my son and work. I cannot do that if my medications are messed up. I paid $200.00 for that visit. I came back as required 160.00 and she prescribed two weeks. Then she wanted me to come back again in another two weeks. At that point my son and I ran out of money. A month of insurance does not cost that much. So, she prescribes me 7 pills and a refill of 1. It cost me more money then if she would have given me 14. It was insulting and the pharmacist looked at me like a drug addict. I am not. I have been prescribed this medication for a medical condition. I have never abused it. Now, because I cannot pay, I am out of a medication that going without can kill you. It affects your CNS and u are unable to function much less work. You will have a seizure and die. She was afraid of prescribing me 90 pills when I have been on this medication for 14 or more years with no incidence. She wants your money. She does not care about you. Also I ended up spending 6 days in the hospital thanks to her. Look her up before you use her. FYI."

"Dr Mary Gay MD is of the finest quality I've ever come across. I've previously been treated by the best at the Cleveland Clinic, and two others along my journey towards Beaufort, SC. I now live near my children in Florida. If it weren't for them, I'd still be being treated by her. She's by far the best. The fact that she does therapy as well as having earned a medical degree, which makes her better able to know what medication to prescribe. So she's a five star doctor, in a world of 2-3 star world of doctors who's only desire is to get you in and out fast and take your money. I highly recommend her. Shelley Webb Venice, FL"
