"We found the restaurant here at Hotel Hartness to be outstanding. The service wasn't just on point. It was highly skilled servers and backers providing an experience that matched the setting, not just serving food and drinks. The setting, both inside and out, felt elegant but not pompous. The food was fresh, creative, delicious, and spectacularly well plated. Though I'm not a drinker, our party of 10+ all seemed quite pleased with the drink menu, choices, and wine selection, including mocktails."

"As fancy as this place tries to be it’s not ready for prime yet. The food was just ok - none of what we had was knock your socks off excellent, it was just good. The crab dip appetizer was more soup than dip and the scallops we got had one missing the roe. The entrees were ok but not great. I honestly expected more after reading all the reviews but we were both underwhelmed. Same goes for the drinks - the ones we had were just ok. The waiter was on point the whole night and was unobtrusive however the ladies refilled the waters far too often - to the point I got tired of saying “thank you” every time they appeared. It made it hard to keep the conversation going with my wife as every 3-5 minutes someone was stopping at the table to top off our water. They need more time to sort out their issues. I’ll be back in six months or so to see if they have together, but I cannot recommend it now."

"What a special place this is! We’ve been here 3 times now and have always had such amazing experiences from the bar tenders who are so talented in their craft to the waiting staff. We had the pleasure of having Ms. Genesis for both my 30th birthday and 10th wedding anniversary and she made us feel so wonderful each time. Such a warm soul! Each time she has photos of the specials on her phone to show us and has always been so knowledgeable about the menu. The food is absolutely incredible and unique. The scallops are seriously to die for. The whole atmosphere feels like a mini vacation. Absolutely recommend this establishment!"

"Perfect date night spot. We went for our anniversary , got the scallops to start. They were the best scallops I’ve had in a long time. The perfect sear. The ribeye and duck pasta were our entrees and the steak was cooked perfect medium (their recommendation). The pasta was also really good with a hearty sauce. I would say the steak was one of the best we’ve had in Greenville."

"I’m giving it a 5 because this place has the potential to be a 5. There were many high points, and when you visit during the first week, you expect a few growing pains. Pros first: The crab dip was incredible! My cucumber-lime martini was almost too good. I had the swordfish, and it was delicious. My 12yo got the Duo of Joyce Farms chicken which we both found exceptional! My husband’s Duck Cavatelli was also very good. The ambiance is lovely and the views are breathtaking. The staff were all kind and attentive, but especially our initial greeter. We appreciated the thoughtful timing of the courses, the bread that was provided, and plenty of water refills. The server was also kind enough to share recommendations. Now the cons. My boys studied each mocktail description before making a choice. The server inadvertently got the drinks mixed up, so they each got the other’s drink. My children WILL NOT drink after each other. I kindly mentioned it, and she did apologize. She admitted to guessing verses asking the bartender. There was no offer to fix it. My boys were SUPER bummed about it, as they both had their minds up with their selection. If I had pushed, I’m sure the issue would have been corrected. That is just not my style. Secondly, she wrote my older son’s order down correctly but made an error entering it in the system. They brought out the fillet. They did make his burger, but I was finished with my meal when it arrived. I do understand how that happens, so it wasn’t a big deal. However, the burger was the greasiest I have ever seen. It was literally dripping a good bit. He also found it bland, and he’s not at all picky. I’m curious if the grease had something to do with them trying to expedite the corrected order. We will visit again. We already have upcoming hotel reservations. I think Patterson Kitchen will be a great asset to the area, and I do recommend trying them out."
