I was a little scared with never having someone in a nursing facility, however the Admission department helped me through the process and made my Grandmother and myself feel good about our choice. "This facility gets a 0. Do NOT send your family member to this incompetent facility. My husband has a spinal cord injury and took him in for rehab. He barely got rehab at all and when I realized he needed an LTAC facility I changed his insurance that STILL paid for the care at NHC Laurens. But instead of waiting the day the insurance company needed to process the information they DISCHARGED my husband on 2 hour notice and said they would have him transported home by CAB OR POLICE. I told them if they transported him by any method other than ambulance they would be slapped with a lawsuit. They literally had him dumped in my driveway PARALYZED and in need of ACUTE CARE with 2 gallon size bags of medication and his clothes. He weighs over 200 lbs and they sent NO transfer boards or any method of helping me transfer him. I had to call 911 to help me transfer him from a wheelchair that belonged to him to the couch. This facility is filled with incompetent administration. The Social Workers DO NOT know how to do their jobs and this facility needs to be shut down IMMEDIATELY!!"
