Reviews of HVAC Repairs
"This company was assigned to me through my home warranty service. They came out and checked my outside unit and stated that it had zero Freon and it was drawing excessively high amperage. They went inside and up to my attic pulled at a piece of tape and looked through a seem in the metal casing around the coil and said that there was a leak. This confirmed what the first opinion stated. When I received the call back from my warranty company, they had something completely different than what I had on my carbon copy. They added in the piece that the leak was there from a long time ago and would not be covered. Now we are waiting on a 3rd opinion because of this. We have been without AC since June 28th. How can my service order carbon copy state something completely different than what the warranty company has? I also called multiple days after hearing about this issue and the phone always went to the "busy" signal and you could not leave a voicemail. I was unable to get ahold of anyone."
"This company was assigned by my home warranty. They sent out a technician who put duct tape over a button and unscrewed the door just enough to keep the door ajar to hold the button down so my A/C would run continuously. When he left I contacted the company to tell them what happened and to send another technician to fix it properly. I stated that I did not want the original technician to come back. Two days later they sent out a new technician and the original technician that created the problem “tagged” along. The original technician told the new technician to take pictures of the model. Then, he told me they would have to order a part. Five days later I called for a status update on the part. The company representative said that she would have to talk to the manager and they would give us a call. No one called. I contacted my home warranty company HSA and no part/work order was ever submitted. My air conditioning unit is constantly running because it’s been rigged up with duct tape by the technician. This is unacceptable, unprofessional and potentially dangerous. I do not recommend ever using this company."
"This company was given to me by my home warranty company. First they took a week to come out and diagnose the problem and put more freeon in my A/C unit outside. Then within three days the coil in my heat pump went out and it took over two weeks for them to come out and fix that. They then discovered the compressor outside had gone out. Now I am still waiting for them to come out and either replace or fix my A/C compressor. We have now been without Air Conditioning for over a month with the tempetures over 90 degrees. My three daughters have had to sleep on couches or the floor during this time as well."
"Anyone thinking of using this company, please read this review first. In the beginning of November we tried to turn our heat on. The thermostat was working, but the heat would not turn on, and the breaker kept tripping, so we contacted this company on a recommendation from a family friend. A tech came out on November 4, and said all that was wrong with our furnace was the gas control valve was cut off and there was a staple in a high voltage wire. Saturday November 7, the heat came on for the first time since the repairs and by 7am the house smelled like gas. Dominion came out to the house and shut the gas off, and using a detector found that the gas control valve was leaking. Carbon monoxide was detected inside the house, and was 300 in the garage. I called, and a new tech came out to the house on November 10, I told him about what had happened over that weekend, that the first tech had missed a gas leak, and that there had been carbon monoxide in our house. He replaced the gas control valve and told me the furnace was fine and safe to run, however, he didn’t rewire the thermostat before he left so, my thermostat was not working. I was not going to give them a third chance, so I called another company, and I’m so thankful that I did. The tech that came out and fixed my thermostat, and told me that the carbon monoxide leaking back into the house meant my heat exchanger was bad AND MY FURNACE WAS NOT SAFE TO RUN. He also was the first to tell me our furnace was 22 years old, and I needed a whole new system. I was skeptical, so I contacted 2 more companies and got a second and third opinion, both of which confirmed, my heat exchanger was bad, my furnace WAS NOT SAFE TO RUN, and I needed to replace the whole furnace. My dad tried to contact the owner on my behalf, but he never responded. I trusted that this company was competent. I paid them $510. They missed a gas leak, a cracked heat exchanger, and told me my unit was safe to run when it wasn’t. They never mentioned the age of my unit, or that I would need to replace it. They left loose ends, and they put my family and me in potentially dangerous situations more than once. I am not writing this review to be spiteful. My goal is to inform other potential customers. Maybe this was just an isolated incident, but it is an incident that I hope you will take in to consideration before using this company."
"Customer service was poor. Owner was unwilling to source a zone damper on a home built in 2012, stating that someone in town has it, but since it wasn't one of his distributors, I should find who built the home and have them replace. Owner became confrontational, and refused to refund full service plan 30 days into contract. Definitely not strong service. I figured that a professional HVAC company should be able to fix a simple problem, not let it linger for over three weeks before throwing in the towel."
