"The “before” photo(s) aren’t going to do it justice (tbh, the “afters” won’t, either, but it’s night and day different): “moist” is about the best all-encompassing word to explain our crawlspace prior to partnering with Cobb Crawlspace Repair to encapsulate that disaster zone. 60+% humidity and the mold, mildew, and poor indoor air quality that goes with it. Radon readings averaging over 8 pCi/L in adjacent living areas. It was dirty, dank, and just plain uncomfortable to be in there. Some structural supports for the house above them had been weakened due to a prior resident digging out soil from around the base of them — and settlement cracks above suggested we address that issue as well. Finally, a finished ~800sf basement apartment next to the crawlspace was frequently uninhabitable due to flooding after heavy rains. I say we “partnered with” Cobb as opposed to “hired” Cobb — because that’s the way they’ve made us feel, like business partners. They’ve truly gone above and beyond, time and again, to help us resolve issues with our home. They beefed up our foundation with correctly-built support piers. They encapsulated our crawlspace, ensuring moisture from below as well as from outside has only one place to go — out, thru our sump pumps. The materials and methods they use mitigate soil gases so we don’t experience the “cat pee” odor an improperly-encapsulated crawl gives off as organic materials below the crawlspace floor continue to break down and off-gas into the environment above. And although radon mitigation is not part of their advertised and warranted services, a bonus of that properly installed soil gas mitigation system — as we have experienced — is a major reduction in radon gas (the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the US) in our living spaces. They troubleshot and went to great lengths to help us figure out how to keep our basement apartment from flooding. They did all of this: ON TIME, ON BUDGET, without high-pressure sales tactics, courteously and respectfully. There may be other crawlspace repair companies around the western Upstate of SC and northeast GA where we live, play, and conduct our real estate brokerage business, that do a fine job — but we’ll probably never know about them first-hand, because as long as Cobb is around, they’re our first and only call. #becausewhoyoudobusinesswithmatters."

I cannot give 5 stars because the dryer vent tubing was disconnected and wrapped with the insulation and was never reconnected at the completion of the job. Follow up on incidental items (warranty information and electrical hook-up) was lacking as well."
