Reviews of Elite Baseball and Softball Academy
"The owner is basically a glorified salesman he will say what he knows the parents want to hear to get you to commit financially. Coaches are not top knotch in fact some are incredibly unprofessional and rude. Chad straight lied to my son’s face and also my husband because he knew what he needed to say to get us on board everything he said was a flat out lie, Please continue to look at other teams that have owners and coaches with integrity and value honesty and put the kids first not just the money."
"My son joined Elite about 1 year ago as a 12 year old from out of state. It started with training in the winter. Chad spoke with us and laid everything on the line with me before training started. He was upfront with not codling the children and that they were there to perfect his game. That in itself brought me back to my childhood in sports. To not make this longer I will say we couldn’t be happier with the program. My son knew he would have to earn a spot on an existing team. After winter training he was awarded a roster spot. We new that did not mean playing time but it gave him a chance and the program, teammates and parents couldn’t be more welcoming from day 1. Now, About the program being rough on the kids- In my opinion a child gets nothing out of praise for everything they do so I was ok with them not praising him for tying his own shoes, he doesn’t need that from them. Are they sometimes hard on them? Yes, But, with that comes praise from Chad and staff when they do it correctly and when that happens that means so much more to the kid then being coddled. My son remembers every time they tell him he is doing something right (and is ecstatic) and tries twice as hard to fix what they tell him is wrong. In my opinion they are constantly trying to make him a better ball player and that truly has shown in the past year! We recently went to an out of state tournament where we played in the championship game and lost in extra innings. Instead of Chad being pissed (which he could have been) he told the team how proud he was of them and this was just a taste of more to come, to enjoy the moment and they should be proud of themselves. Kudos to Elite for continuing to make my son love this game and give 110% every time."
"I would give 0 stars if possible. The actual facility is nice, but it has to be so that it can draw in people to have their money taken. My daughter was brought in to play on the white team, a white team was never formed so Chad, the owner, put her onto the black team. There was no prior discussion, it was just "she's going to be on our black team". The day of the 2nd practice and 3 days before the first tournament I receive a message from the coaches that they will only be taking 12 kids (all the boys) and my daughter would be the only one on the team who was not invited to play in the weekend tournament but she could come to practices. When I questioned this I was told it was due to her "skill level" and in order for her to play in a weekend tournament because these are the 3 standards set for her (she's the only one on the team with these 3 standards to play): 1) a slot has to open up on the weekend 2) she has to beat someone on the team 3) just wait until spring for a white team to be formed and then play tournaments Now, had we been informed of this at the moment they put her on an already full team things would be different. But that was not the case. I spoke to some parents of current players on the black AND red teams, they told me that Elite has not had a white team in the last 3 years. When I asked Chad why he would bring her on for a white team that he has not been able to form for 3 years, he refused to give me an answer. When I asked how many children during their 2 tryouts were brought in to play on the white team he, again, refused to answer. At this point I asked for a refund for the uniforms that my daughter will never wear, which he stated were a requirement to play on his team's (which my daughter is obviously not doing according to he and his coaches) he said that had to be taken up with NB because that's where we bought them (remember he admitted in text, without the uniforms she wouldn't be allowed to play on his teams). So now all of this required clothing has been used to try to fit his INSANE standards we are out a ton of money that we won't get back. Chad does NOT support female players in the baseball world, unless it's his own child of course. He will lie to you to get money out of you then he will refuse to respond when you text him needing help or have a question UNLESS he knows he's done wrong, then (and only then) will he respond and try to turn it around on you or your player. My recommendation is to RUN from Elite! He will lie through his teeth and deceive people to get their money, then they're of no use to him. In 2 months between eval and today (the day we've been kicked from contacting them in any way) we have spent over $800 in uniforms and equipment to meet his requirements and several hundred dollars more between traveling and attending camps/practices. You should be ashamed with the way you treat players, specifically little girls when you claim that you support female players, the way you conduct business, and your treatment of people in general. Also, stop using your coaches to do your dirty work of bumping players you don't want in tournaments."
"Hard work pays, my son has not only improved in his baseball skills but has learned valuable life skills. Chad and Gary are great coaches that care about the players. They have a genuine love for the game and drive players towards their maximum potential. Happy to be apart of the Elite Family!"
"Our son started batting lessons at Elite when he was only 6. A year later he joined the 8U team. Tomorrow he turns 9 and will be going into 9U. Over the past few years he has been loved on and had knowledge of the game poured into him. He is constantly learning and growing. One of our favorite things about Elite is the family feeling you get when you walk in the doors. From the owners, coaches, instructors to fellow baseball families and the older kids. Our son spent a game in the dugout with the high schoolers this weekend and he was treated like a little brother with high fives. A few of them even took the time to explain plays happening on the field. We’re proud it be part of the Elite family!"
