"My daughter graciously took about 5 prom dresses from my house and about 5 bridesmaid/ mother of the bride dresses to try and do something with them other than throw them away or land them at Goodwill. She called ahead and was told they were taking prom dresses now (Feb) but weren’t taking bridesmaids/mother of the bride dresses until March. My daughter thanks whomever she spoke with and on Saturday she and her husband headed to Encore. As they were unloading the car, someone from the store came flying out and stated “we don’t take dresses on Saturday.” Not in a nice way by any means. My daughter stated she had called so the woman (cause I wouldn’t describe her as a “lady) said “well bring Um in we will look at them. She and another clerk proceeded to criticize each one. There is a way to say things and a way not to. These women are retail sales clerks and maybe at this point they have more business than they need but that may not always be the case. A little tack and class was very necessary and very much lacking. My daughter went to a store in Aiken and the dresses were welcomed and graciously accepted and the saleswomen were ladies . It doesn’t pay to be rude and abrupt."
"On there sign the day to take your business else where if you can not comply with their demands of showing vaccine cards. So I will not be shopping at a place who wants to take freedom of choice away. Showing a vaccine card to enter is not okay. You can choose to wear a mask but neither are a freedom of choice. Next you will be pointing me to the colored only water fountain. Segregation of any kind is not okay."
"I read alot of comments about snobbish service so I braced myself before entering. However, that was not my experience at all. Both of the ladies I encountered were very friendly and helpful. They had a large selection of formal wear in a wide range of sizes. Store was clean and very well organized"
"My experience was off-putting enough that I can't imagine any reason I would need to go back to this place. Now for those of you who are routine customers in a part of "The Clique" I'm sure your experience would be much different than what I dealt with but let me just give this business a remark. YOU (the two uppity ladies working there) should treat everybody with a hello, welcome and thank you. Barking orders, acting as though you universe has a gift in you only? BE NICE BE KIND BE GRATEFUL BE APPRECIATIVE BE WELCOMING AND FRIENDLY"
"I think I'm going to start hitting the upscale consignment shops instead of the thrift stores. The quality of clothes here is high both in the brands and the condition. They have a whole wall of shoes for those of us with a little extra love in our feet. (And it helps that the owner understands that being that she wears that size herself). But for us bargain hunters, they don't disappoint. They had a $5 rack outside that I might have to hit up later for fashionable treats!"
