The Quarters on Vendue

"We stayed there one night on 9/14/22. We rented the two-bedroom suite (each with a king-size bed and its own bathroom). It is in a fabulous location close to everything in the charming French Quarter of Charleston. The kitchen had everything you needed, appliances, utensils, etc. The only problem was cleanliness in the bathrooms. Although the sinks had been washed, the grout on the bathroom floors and shower was filthy, and the walls could have used a good wiping down. The beds were made with clean, crisp sheets and were very comfortable. Also, it was very quiet, especially in the evening. Even though there is no front desk and you are more or less on your own, the manager is easy to contact by phone and was very polite, responsive and available on the few occasions we had to call. I would stay there again and enjoyed my visit to Charleston."

"Mold. Beware! I wish I would've read the reviews before we booked, but I was excited to get a room in the French Quarter that held old charm. And both were as promised. But old came with mold. You're hit with it as soon as you enter the staircase. It seemed better in the room until we were there a while. Then we SAW mold all over the walls in the bathroom, even creeping onto the door frame (room 201). So we literally slept and showered there. And yup. Everything stunk so bad when we got home that we had to wash and rewash everything, leaving all bags and suitcases out on the porch. We really did love the location but I would never encourage anyone to stay there till the owners dig into the walls of that building and de-mold. It's unhealthy!!"

"The location is amazing! You’re less than two blocks away from dreamy little cafes and restaurants. The architecture of the room was cozy and had a “Charleston” feel to it that added a bit of magic to the stay. Communication with management was easy and smooth. The room and bathroom were both very clean and comfortable."

"No lobby or front desk, maid service by request only, key pad to enter room, small room, no fridge, no place to put suitcases, nice bath but must walk up 8 steps to access, keurig coffee maker but cord is so short you have to place on floor to plug in, nice sheets and towels. The only place to hang clothes is in a 4 1/2foot tall wardrobe so don't bring a dress. Better for only 1 maybe 2 days max not a week. No Charleston experience with afternoon wine and cheese or breakfast here but it was clean."

"I stayed in the loft of the Quarters on Vendue October 4, 2018 for three nights. I was very disappointed. There is no front desk on site you receive a code to the front door and your room via cellphone. From the time we turned the handle of the front door all we could smell was mildew. We had to carry our luggage up three floors to our room. We called the number that was provided on the cellphone to remove the trash and bring us new towels. When we returned to the room the trash that we had put by the trash barrels in the room and bathroom had been removed by the barrels were not emptied. and they dirty towels were still on the bathroom floor never taken away. Ugh!!! The day we were leaving on our late flight there was no bellman to leave the luggage with......When I returned home my suitcase and clothing stunk of mildew. I had to spray my luggage with Fabreeze Spray and leave it outside to air. I had to wash everything in my suitcase twice to get the smell out. Absolutely no frills at this hotel. Absolutely would not recommend staying here............"
