"Poseidon Room Pros: 1. Location - Folly beach is an amazing place and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. 2. The room was very nice. Loved the little fireplace heater. The bed was super comfy. Lots of space. 3. Parking was easy. There is an event lot that is also part of the property, so there is always easy parking. 4. The option to rent a bicycle was a plus. Folly beach is great to get around via bicycle. 5. Nice and quiet. Since there are no children allowed here, it's the perfect getaway. 6. Price during "off season" is great! Cons: 1. Breakfast - First, there were no clear instructions anywhere on how breakfast worked and no specified breakfast hours. The selection was limited (unless I was supposed to go rifling through cabinets and such). Was I supposed to use the dishes then wash them or were there paper plates somewhere? It was just very unclear. Not a deal breaker though. 2. The bathtub - We tried to use the tub one night and black slimy chunks shot out of the jets. The manager's solution was to just run the jets until the black stuff stopped coming out. Now, anyone who works in plumbing, irrigation, or the like, knows that there is still gross stuff in those lines. They need to be properly cleaned with the appropriate chemicals. We were not about to get into a tub with all that gross mold, bacteria, and biofilm still in those jet lines. The fact that she tried to play it off as being able to be "cleaned" by just running water through it was ridiculous. 3. Disregard of "Do Not Disturb" tag on door - I mentioned the bathtub issue while asking about checkout (the next morning) hoping they would just have it professionally cleaned before the new guests came the next day. Instead we arrived back at the room a couple hours later to someone in there despite our Do Not Disturb sign being up. That was such a major violation of privacy. There was no emergency that needed tending to. We did not ask for it to be handled immediately, we were leaving early the next morning anyway. There was no reason at all for anyone to go into our room. Unacceptable."
"Beautiful place! Views were lovely! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Quiet and peaceful. An easy walk to the beach. The bed was incredibly comfortable - so much so my hubby wants to buy one just like it! We really loved our stay."
"I had my wedding at Regatta Inn earlier this month and it was truly incredible! We rented out the entire inn for our guests and they had the best stay. All of the employees went above and beyond for breakfast, happy hour, and any other needs we had. Shanika and her team made the wedding setup seamless and easy. I would highly recommend Regatta Inn for anyone looking to host their wedding. Thank you again to the wonderful staff for making our dream day such a success!"
"Just got back from a Girls Trip having stayed at the Regatta and we LOVED it. Zoe and Paige were both awesome and kind. Not to mention helpful with suggestions. Took advantage of the Happy Hour they offered while soaking in the incredible views on the terrace. Beds were comfortable and the place was quiet. Walls are thin, but with no kids (thank you!!!) we didn’t have any issues whatsoever. Thank you for the hospitality and I’m sure we’ll see y’all again soon. :)"
"This was our fourth time at the Regatta and unfortunately it will be our last. Truly disappointed in how run down it has become and the quality of service and amenities had much to be desired. Breakfast was changed from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. but it was NEVER ready, and we finally went to a local restaurant to eat. There is supposed to be Happy Hour each day at 5:00 p.m. again, NEVER had it. There was wine in the refrigerator but nothing else as promised. Need to take these two items off your website. Lack of staff to help out. One day there was absolutely no one there after the morning. There was so much dust on the blinds and the wood slates around the jacuzzi tub they were almost white. There was mold on bathroom wall and around the shower door. The tiebacks on the curtains were frayed, carpet was in dire need of replacement. The best thing is the view. For the amount of money not worth it."
