Reviews of Hampton Inn Savannah-I-95/Richmond Hill
"Older hotel but well maintained. Breakfast was basic but staff was great. Very friendly cleaning crew doing a very thorough job. Dog friendly hotel."
"Our room had cockroaches. So disgusting. I read reviews that this place was good. Arrived really late so I didn’t do my once over like I usually do and when I woke up in the morning there was a cockroach in our room. Immediately packed and left. Emailed the general manager and she said she would rectify the situation we’ll see. Still hasn’t yet. Would not recommend"
"Bedbugs. Avoid at all costs. My family takes a vacation once a year. The four of us arrived at Hampton Inn Savannah-I-95/Richmond Hill in the evening. Soon after going to bed, we awoke itching. A flashlight to the sheets revealed the presence of bedbugs (mature and nymphs) as well as fresh bloodstains. We immediately went to the front desk, and we were given keys to a different room, along with assurances that the manager would handle our situation in the morning. We woke our two children (ages 4 and 5), bathed them at 2am, moved the luggage that was not in contact with the bed, and bagged clothing and luggage that was in contact with the bed. In the morning, we sought assistance with laundry from the front desk, but were told to use the coin laundry at our own expense. The front desk clerk expressed some doubt the manager would be in at all, but told us if we were not finished with laundry by 1pm, that we’d be charged for another night’s stay. We went to the grocery store to get quarters and spent the first day of our vacation laundering our belongings. When the manager arrived, she did not address us in the lobby where we were waiting for her. Instead, she walked past us and went directly to the infested room. We followed her and introduced ourselves as the guests whose room had bedbugs. She did not introduce herself. She took away a cup of bedbugs we had trapped and observed the photos we had taken (attached here). She addressed how she would ready the room for the next guests. She did comp our room for the night, but did not apologize to us, and expressed doubt whether the insects were bedbugs at all. The delays and extra steps for sanitation ended our already-short vacation. When we asked her for compensation/points/some gesture to make this situation right, we were waived off. Photo and video evidence is attached here. Corporate stated that since bedbugs are a “health and safety” issue, only the hotel owner could do anything. tl;dr: bedbugs, bad time, no help, please avoid this place at all costs."
"Room was nice and clean, hotel staff was nice, and great location. Funny thing is this was probably the dirtiest or most run down Hampton we’ve ever stayed at. Mainly the hall areas and maintenance like paint. There were so many stains in the hall on the second floor it would probably be hard to count. Not a huge deal but we stay at a lot of Hampton Inns and they are usually immaculate. I read reviews of places in the area and it seems like a rough area in general so this was a great place to stay and about 10-15 miles from stuff to do. Our room was fine but like I said I was just kind of surprised about the halls and such."
"The room smelled like really strong cleaning chemicals. It does not have a gym. It has a few pieces of cardio equipment. We wouldn't return. We stayed at several Hampton inns which is why we booked here. I expected the same quality and amenities as other Hampton inns."
