Reviews of Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Pulmonary and Critical Care
"I cannot say how the doctor is. This is because after over a month and a half of trying to make an appointment (with no luck) I had to seek care elsewhere. If you have a health concern I would think twice about this office. I tried THREE different ways and multiple times each method to get an appointment. I could not get anyone to return my call. I tried the "appointment request" on the website. I never got a response. SO I tried calling the number provided. I was told each time that the nurse makes the appointments so I was transferred to the nurse line where I was greeted with a voicemail each time (three total). The voicemail states she is currently with a patient and if calling after 4pm the call will be returned the next business day (I called various times of day). I also found an email address and sent an email with no response. For nearly two months I tried. I have a busy life so I do not have time to keep attempting to make appointments for my health. SO I found another doctor who had a receptionist answer immediately and made me an appointment immediately. I understand an office might be busy, but this is unacceptable. The nurse FINALLY called an hour after I made an appointment with another doctor. I saw this as a sign of how the office is run so it may have been a blessing in disguise that I had so much trouble and made an appointment elsewhere. Because of this I kindly declined to make an appointment when I finally DID get a call back."
"Under no circumstances should you entrust your or your loved one's care to this practice. The doctors do not speak to family (even with a healthcare power of attorney) on the phone, only in person, even if you live hours away. It takes days to talk to a nurse, and when you do, the information is either inaccurate or incomplete. The doctor and staff, who should be concerned about caring for those who in many cases are near death, are unconcerned about loved ones who are simply seeking healthcare information for the best interests of the patient."
"Dr. Jeffrey Pike is one of the best doctors I have seen in years. He is very informative and caring. I Always say go to a doctor that loves what they do and doctor Pike does. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a matter of minutes. I feel like I'm in very good hands and very well taken care of with Mr. Pike.. thank you doctor Pike you rock!!!"
"The questions on the form are out of line. Shame on you rsfh . Key word ST. FRANCIS!!! LET ME FIND A dude in the rest room with my kid and I'll sue the hell out of yall."
"First off, I strongly urge other patients and their families to 'Know your rights' regarding recording medical personnel during appointments. Yes, hospitals and other facilities post "NO CELL PHONE USE" or "NO RECORDING" signs, but if you record-NOT ANY OTHER PATIENTS OR THEIR CONVERSATIONS- to protect you & your family from possible maltreatment, is this illegal? I am currently conducting research on this matter. On March 29, 2017, my teenaged daughter & I were told by respiratory therapist, Roberta Kingston, that our 'whispering' was distracting her and she could hardly hear my teenaged son's responses to her questions. Before I go any further, due to how extremely bizarre this story might sound, I should make it known that I began recording our conversation IMMEDIATELY following the initial, shockingly absurd, comment made! I actually have documentation of Roberta repeating her complaint that, "...regardless of your 'whispering', I was having a hard time hearing him." And though I politely questioned her comment, she went on to say, "You don't actually have to be in here..." Needless to say, my daughter and I were completely dumbfounded!!! Well, I could go into the subject of my husband and I being an interracial couple & our kids being biracial, but I won't DARE...as it seems to only be acceptable to PRACTICE racism, but not experience it! smh I spoke with a supervisor there, who seemed very concerned & helpful, but I still felt I needed to put in a formal complaint. I called in later to file a complaint and the woman I spoke with said there would be follow up contact. A couple months went by and I hadn't heard from anyone, so I reached out to the facility again and was informed by Mitzi Neely that the woman I had spoken with months before was no longer with them. I told Mitzi the details of the incident and she remained very professional, and kind, throughout the phone conversation. On the other hand, Abby Bunkley, regional manager, made a follow up call to me the next week..ehhh, that conversation was so-so. Her issue with me was the recording-she asked me to "get rid of it right away!!!" I then asked her if having the recording was illegal. She said it was. I asked if I could be prosecuted for it. She then said, "If someone is caught recording, it can be confiscated, and they wouldn't be allowed at the hospital thereafter". Well, frankly, my family & I are only concerned about whether or not there are actual LAWS that supersede the signs posted, LAWS which actually PROTECT THE PATIENT!"
