Reviews of Flatland Checking
"I walked into this Establishment about two weeks ago And there are about three large signs that say we exchange your unwanted gift cards and store credits. I called her today and they tell me that they don’t do that. Either they need to update their signage or the staff is a little too lazy to turn around behind them and see the large sign that says we trade gift cards and store credits."
"To be honest they don't even deserve one star. the women that work there are VERY unprofessional and VERY disrespectful. One of the worse places to handle business. They have poor customer service and bad attitudes. I live in the neighborhood and would rather travel to go somewhere else than to go here."
"I have been going here for a while but last Monday, Nov 27, 2017 I when in to cash my paycheck. I was given older bills which I asked to exchanged for newer one. The associate at the window gave me one less hundred which I recounted twice to verify and I told her. I even asked her to count her draw. She handed me the money, I recounted it and said thank you and left. I proceeded to come into to cash another check. The girl looks at me and says you owe 100 dollars. I am completely confused because I never received more money from them. I told the associate not to cash my check and give it back until I see proof of the nonsense she proceeded to cash the check and give me 100 less. Talking about the cashier draw was short, she counted it after I left not in front of me like I suggested to avoid a situation like this. I am not a thief or someone trying to get over so this was horrible. Then the manager told me the associate paid the money back out of her bank account so in all actuality the draw wasn’t short but they still took my money. This place is a rip off. The manger/boss Ryan Sheriff was very uptight and sounded agitated about my concerns and told me it’s my fault because they had an old number for me. I arrived there after 3 o’clock for the original transaction and I didn’t hide or do anything unbecoming of my character. If her draw was short it was not because of me and to accuse me and demand forceful payment is not professional at all. I will never do business here again and I am contacting the better business bureau in regards to this to see what can be done. I feel like I was personally robbed and that doesn’t sit well with me."
"Possibly one of the worst check cashing establishments in Brooklyn! The tellers are extremely rude, oh I mean teller because no matter if there’s a line wrapping around the block there would always only be 1 teller working. Things that should take 5 mins become a half and hour wait and to top that the place is always messy and uninviting. This establishment never seems to have any managerial presence and if it does that person should be demoted for allowing such poor service under his or her supervision! I hate writing post like these but being a resident in this neighborhood for over 20 years I refuse to let a business where I myself and clearly tons of others support not be held at a higher standard. The service at this establishment gets 1 star from me today and hopefully more people can voice there opinions so we could bring change to the customer service environment in our neighborhood."
"Some of the employees need to be trained in customer service. It's the first location I've been to where you have to stand on line wait until it's your turn to get a money gram form only to get back in line to be served. Why don't they have the forms on the counter like everyone else. Oh and they refuse to pay out money from moneygram at a certain time too. It's such an inconvenience to the community. From now on I'll be going elsewhere."
