Reviews of Carolina Endocrine Associates
"This is my very first Google review, but I feel like everyone needs to know this so you don't have to go through what I went through. My experience here was TERRIBLE. Dr Bond's bedside manner (she actually stood behind a computer on a bar height desk talking down to me literally and figuratively) was atrocious and she was incredibly condescending. She told me several times "all women go through menopause eventually, it's just what happens, I'm definitely not looking forward to it." She refused to look at test I had done prior to my appointment. She was incredibly rude. She did not examine me at all, yet she wrote in here notes on my chart that she examined parts of my body. She talked over me, did not listen, and on several occasions repeated back specific information that I gave her with the incorrect information and typed the incorrect info into her notes. I do not recommend this place at all, total waste of time and was not worth the $15 copay. Women deserve to be heard, and to have answers to their health problems, not sit in front of the egocentric doctor that clearly doesn't care. Don't waste your time here."
"I'm perplexed by some of these reviews because the team here is awesome. For YEARS I had symptoms that went undiagnosed and spent a great deal of time at doctors' offices having various tests run and spending a lot of money with no results. Dr. Bond listened carefully, is extremely knowledgeable and was able to pinpoint some specific issues I was having in my first two visits. From there, she and Ashley continued to go above and beyond to provide the care I need: answering countless emails, submitting and resubmitting and resubmitting (again) information to insurance, etc. Dr. Bond does not baby her patients -- she gives you real information and, I believe, expects that you invest in your own health but she and Ashley do absolutely everything they can to help along the way. I've been seeing Dr. Bond for a couple years now and have exactly zero complaints."
"Dr Bond has on several occasions made me question why she got into the field that she is in. Money or people. After my last visit, I see it is about the money."
"Dr. Waring is awesome - she is so nice and helpful and has been for many years. Highly recommend. However I have issues with communication with the office. Nice people but their processes need updated as I struggle to connect with them via phone and they rarely respond to phone messages."
"I can't speak on the other two doctors, but stay away from Dr. Bond. I went in originally for a adeomna on one of my adrenal glands that was found during a CT. That turned out to be normal, however during the blood tests it was discovered that I had high calcium and a further blood test showed very low vitamin D. These almost always point to a parathyroid tumor. I never got the opportunity to discuss symptoms that I experience that reflect and issue with my parathyroid. I am also seeing a rheumatologist and many autoimmune symptoms are similar to parathyroid symptoms. Since I originally saw her for the adrenal adeomna, I didn't even think to go over my symptoms like bone pain, joint pain, ect. Well, she put me on 2 months of 2,000 Vitamin D and said we would run the blood work again in 2 months. That re-test was this past Monday. Blood work is still consistent with Parathyroid problems to which she agreed she believes is the issue. Almost any endo would either run scans to look at the parathyroid glands or refer right to a surgeon to run theirs as surgery is the only option. Instead, I got a call from an assistant who sounded half asleep and completely clueless as to my background at their office. She didn't even know this was follow up blood work, didn't know I had been taking vitamin D for the past 2 months per Dr. Bond, and had to ask ME how much I have been taking. Why is all that information not right in front of her? Then she proceeded to say that Dr. Bond wanted me to double whatever I had been taking... so 4,000 per day. And re-test again in 3 months! Meanwhile I'm in pain, the vitamin D has made that pain more intense so doubling it is asinine. And of course, I can't let her know anything or ask any follow up questions or she will demand I come in, for the money I'm sure, because she clearly doesn't care or even know what care plan she put me on. I'm referring myself to a top surgeon and will never go back to her again."
