Reviews of Palmetto Primary Care Physicians: Appian Way Office
"Would give a minus 5 starts if I could. The front office staff is the rudest person I’ve met and gave me such attitude that I lost it and now they are trying to band me from being a patient with Drs I’ve been seeing for three years under another primary at palmetto primary care. I’m so shocked that they are doing this and I plan to consult an attorney."
"Wow, I'm an existing patient but because it's been a few years since I've been in they are making new wait 2 weeks to be seen. I'll update more once I've completed my appt. Not a good start..."
"This is absolutely the worst GP you could go to. They do not care about the well being of their paitents what so ever. They only care about getting the patient in the office to collect their money. They refused to refill a prescription for me because it had been 1 year and 1 week since I had last been seen. You go in and they make you take all these unnecessary test. Waste your time. This is not the first time I have had problems with this office. Chelsea is the worst Dr. I have ever been to. Dont put your well being at risk by going to this clinic."
"I came here because Palmetto Primary Care in Summerville could not fit me in when I needed to be seen that day. I was able to see PA Chelsie Rich. She was great, patient, kind, knowledgeable and listened to what I had to say. Within 1-2 hours, the prior authorization that I had been waiting 6 months to get, from the summerville doctor, was done and I was able to get my diabetes medicine that evening. I've never had to wait too long to be seen. My only problem was leaving refill requests by phone but after not hearing back within a day or so, I would leave my request with whomever answered the phone up front, problem solved. I never did without meds since I would call before I was completely out. I highly recommend her because she has been good to me and was there when I needed a physicians help. Feeling "cared for"/important makes all the difference in the world."
"I lived in North Charleston from October 2011 to February 2015 and had chosen Palmetto Primary Care at this location (Appian Way) for my medical needs. Things went well for a while. I had reached a brief point in my life during this time frame where it seemed like everything was happening at once (back-to-back deaths in the family, feeling overwhelmed/overworked at my job, among other things). Trying to keep things together, but found myself starting to feel aggravated, sometimes angry more frequently than usual. This was evident once or twice during my doctor's visits here. I had eventually noticed a trend on my own accord and asked my primary care doctor here at the facility for help in the way of being referenced out to talk to a professional until I got myself back on track again (for the record, I'm a 63-year-old male who only had to resort to this once in my entire life). He agreed. However, in the process, he apparently took my anger issues during appointments personally, although not directed at him personally. He referred me out for counselling but had also sent me a certified letter ejecting me from the practice. I was a bit blindsided but understood his point. I had recently moved back to the area last August (2022) and had checked in elsewhere for my medical needs at the time ("where" doesn't matter. My issue isn't with them). Last week, just for the heck of it, I went back to this Palmetto Primary care practice to register because it was actually more convenient, much closer to where I live. This was the middle of last week. I filled out all the appropriate paperwork and talked with the front-end staff. Things went pretty smoothly. The even made an initial appointment for me for this Wednesday. I received a phone call from a young lady there this morning stating that the so called ejection from 10 years ago was still in their system and that she had to cancel my appointment because I was basically still not welcome there. Part of me thinks "no worries" because I'm still with the medical facility I originally checked in with when I first came back. Things going great there. Getting along with everyone and they have my best interests in mind. There's also a part of me that became a bit rattled after that phone call and it hung with me a good part of the day. Not trying to open a can of worms by any means. Just trying to get my head around why a medical facility, of all places, would condemn a man for life because of a little hiccup that I had been dealing with, and went to them for help. That's the part that kills me."
