"We were on vacation in HHI and were so glad we found this place to help us when my husband was running fever for a few days. They were so friendly and it didn’t take long to be seen by the doctor. The prescribed meds helped him enjoy the rest of our vacation time. Highly recommend!"

"My chief complaint was I had a cyst removed from my back 2 weeks prior to arriving at Dr.s Care around 6:00pm on January 19, 2024. I checked in on time. The receptionist ( I believe her name was Evelyn) told me that my son had a balance of $122. I asked her if she had run it through insurance first. She said she would give me the receipt and that I could do that. I said “no, that is your job to do that.” I could tell that rattled her cage. She called her superiors to discuss with them (I could clearly hear her) and when she didn’t want me to understand what she was saying, she spoke in Spanish, which did irritate me. She finally called me to the desk and said that I would have to pay before I could be seen. She handed me the receipt and the receipt clearly showed that the bill had already been run through insurance and the remaining balance was $122. I explained to her that I had no problem paying her, I just didn’t want to front the money for the insurance and submit the insurance myself. I’ve been to Dr.s Care in the past and they had always done that part. I could tell she was still frustrated with me. I paid the bill. Next, I am taken in a room and meet Sidney, the LPN. She took my blood pressure and reported that it was something high like 188/130. I told her that that was highly unlikely. I am an two medications for BP, I was current on taking them, and when I am medicated, I am always like 136/86 give or take. She took my BP again on the other arm and insisted it was 190/130. The doctor came in (Dr Amber I think) and I told her the story and asked her to take it. It was 140/90. There was no way my BP was that high and then lowered to 140/90. I am a former EMT and I understand that sometimes you can’t clearly hear the heartbeats when taking a blood pressure. The last thing you do is guess. That can kill someone. You just politely say “I can’t get a good reading. I need to get someone for a second opinion.” Sidney either lied or guessed but she clearly messed up. When the doctor took my BP, I could tell by the look on her face that she was not surprised by this mistake. Im going to venture to say Sidney is not a very competent LPN. Dr Amber diagnosed me as having an infection on my incision and possibly an abscess. I wish she had drained the abscess instead of letting me go from Friday night to Monday morning to my next appointment with the surgeon. It was extremely painful and made for a hard weekend. Maybe she wasn’t comfortable draining an abscess, I don’t know. In conclusion, I feel I received horrible service from incompetent people from check-in to check-out. The receptionist was rude and didn’t understand that my bill had been already submitted to insurance, the LPN made two massive mistakes in guessing what my BP was instead of getting a second, more qualified opinion, and the doctor for whatever reason didn’t (or wouldn’t) drain my abscess resulting in 72 hours of intense pain. "I arrived at 7:30 hoping to be the first person to be seen at eight. At 7:55 the first staff member arrived and the doors opened at 8:05. I filled out my paperwork, each page requiring the same information like name and address again and again. I’ve been going there for 8 years, they have all my information. Why not just set it up so the computer auto populates my address at least, that really should’ve been filled out for me. If that’s not possible , even though we all know it is, at least change the form so it only asks for that information once in the beginning and one signature at the end. I then had to sit and wait until a doctor showed up at 8:45. The doctor was great , personable and friendly. My problem is that they really have no concern for the patient experience. The girl behind the counter sat in a chair so low nobody can even see her on the other side. She wanted the minimum to do with me even though I was polite and didn’t mention any of these concerns."

"The minute I walked in the staff at The front desk was cordial and I noticed right away how clean it was which made me feel good. I was called back and that staff person was kind friendly and asked all the right questions. The physician who came in was very through and it put me and my husband at ease. We are both in healthcare I’m a nurse and he is a doctor and we were very impressed with the care given. We aren’t from Hilton Head so we didn’t really know what to expect.
