Reviews of Beaufort Memorial Ladys Island Internal Medicine
"Waited months to get a new doctor after moving to beaufort last year. When it's finally day of I've been told I can't come in because of congestion?!?! When did doctors stop seeing patients when they need medical attention. I understand there is COVID concerns but me being congested isn't COVID. This should be a zero, since I've now gotta wait months for my next opening. Edit I never was able to get into a doctors visit."
"I called for an appointment with a new PCP and was told I could not do so because the new doctor was in the same practice as my original PCP. No question as to why I wanted to change - just 'we don't allow that'. If that is indeed 'written policy' then the web site should say so in the interest of full disclosure. If it is not then why is the office arbitrarily dictating who a patient can or cannot see? I was also told that if I wanted a different doctor I would need to find another practice. Happy to do so since it's obvious that my business, and medical care, is unimportant to them."
"I have been going here for some time and called to switch primary care doctors. I am amazed that they would rather lose my business than to switch me to the doctor I researched and who would meet my needs. The receptionist was rude and when I stated I would like to switch because I preferred a woman she told me I could find another doctor who was a woman at a different practice. Even though I had looked into the doctor I was requesting and had the experience to help me lose weight. I am bewildered that a practice would rather lose me as a patient then grant my request."
"Something about Beaufort must attract the rudest, laziest, and most condescending people to supply it’s workforce. This practice is no different. My experience happened a couple months ago but I can’t imagine much has changed. I can’t speak for the doctors— they could be wonderful— unfortunately I couldn’t get past the condescending bridge-troll of a receptionist, Brenda, in order to actually meet my doctor. As the first point of contact it is extremely important that patients feel welcomed and validated in a medical office by the receptionists. I shouldn’t have to ask for common decency or politeness, nor should I have to explain to someone how to do their job effectively. Disgraceful."
"Called to schedule a physical about a month ago and at the end of the phone call they said it will be a FaceTime/Zoom call. Day of the appointment I get a call in the morning as a checkin and double check insurance and address so we are all set for the 11 am appointment. I get a phone call 10 minutes before my appointment saying that my insurance will not cover the physical. I ask why and they said physicals are only done in person and the appointment never should have been booked and blamed the scheduling department. When I started asking questions and was upset with lack of answers I got put on hold and then about 30 seconds later I got hung up on. Called back about 15 minutes later and was told that I hung up on them. Only good thing is the person I talked to the second time was able to send me my records so now I am looking for another doctor. Covid or not this was the worse experience I have ever had with a doctors office."
