"Came in with lower back pain, decided to pay cash. Big mistake. Apparently upfront cash payments are so frowned upon, I had to pay $148 for the paperwork/new patient intake, where I write out my history and current problem, because which new patient doesn't love paying $150 for having the gall to walk through the door? And then another $60 for the first round of manipulation. Naturally, I left quite dumbfounded after 10 minutes, as this rate is the equivalent to the doc making $1200/hour, at least for easy patients who are not hindered by insurance claims & refusals, more filing etc."
