Reviews
""You don't know what you got until it's gone" may be a little cliche, however it definitely relates to my current situation with two doctors here. I came here to do a review on my current doctor, and decided to do a review on my previous doctor first. Her name is Cecilia Baskett. Absolute five stars for sure. I was absolutely 100% comfortable with her. She's a very genuine and good Christian woman, and always showed that she cared. She was always on time with everything, was absolutely courteous and listened to me when I spoke, while making eye contact. She did not give scripted replies. She understood that every person is unique, and took all things in in order to do a precise diagnosis, rather than doing a blanket textbook diagnosis. She even laughed at my jokes! I lost her as my doctor a couple years ago, because she went overseas on a philanthropic mission, which is absolutely fitting to her character. I was assigned a new doctor, and things have been very bad, including currently. I will come back at another time and do a separate review on that doctor. Before I do that I will be doing a five star review for Walgreens on Saluda Avenue, while at the same time thanking them for giving me a potentially life saving emergency 3-day supply of metoprolol earlier this year. Miss Cecilia, if you are back, I really want you back please! John "Kip" Werts"
"I’ve struggled with finding a doctor that actually listened to me and treated me like a human being in the past. My search has ended with Dr. Olson. She’s got a great sense of humor, she doesn’t rush me or push me into anything, and she actually listens and takes my concerns seriously. She even called me personally after hours to discuss blood work with me, which has never happened in all of my adult years as a patient. I will even switch insurance companies if I have to in order to keep seeing Dr. Olson. I feel like I’m very lucky to have found her and recommend her completely. The rest of the staff at this location was very nice as well and the wait time wasn’t long at all."
"Dr. Melsom is a wonderful doctor! I never feel rushed when I have had to come in for an appointment, were prompt with refilling prescriptions.I have yet to have any negative experience and would recommend this office to anyone looking for a PCP. I have read reviews of having to reschedule appointments due to a provider having an emergency. I understand the frustration of having to reschedule, but doctors are people and things happen!"
"No one likes going to the doctor, of course, and health care in the US is a mess. I’ve been nothing but happy and pleased as can be with the care I receive from this office and especially from Dr. Melsom. I use MyChart for communication and always get thoughtful, informative replies within a reasonable time frame. I don’t understand things like bad reviews because an appointment is canceled due to a provider’s emergency. Doctors are human, too, and have accidents, illness, and the like in their own families. Those things can literally happen with any doctor at any time and there is little that can be done about it other than to reschedule. I feel like I have FINALLY found the place where I have a doctor that is actually looking at my information and answering questions I have as they relate to my specific situation rather than giving quick fixes and cookie cutter answers (or worse, which I’ve experienced at other places.) I haven’t, personally, experienced issues of not receiving a call back, etc myself but I do tend to rely heavily on the use of MyChart (it just suits me better.)"
"I waited 6 weeks for an appointment and had to take the day off from work. I received a call on the morning of my appointment saying Dr. Pierce had an emergency and they needed to change my appointment to a different day. I am a health care professional and had to take the day off for this appointment. The guy on the other end of the phone just acted like he couldn't care less. This is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Prisma Health should be ashamed of the product they are putting out in the name of health care. I'm going to see if I can find a provider associated with Lexington Health Care. Prisma Health simply doesn't care."
