"We signed up for the Christmas tree class. It was at 6:00 pm but after we got there we were the only ones. When we booked it there was a $10 deposit which all 3 of us paid and after we painted our tree we were charged $85 for each tree which was the original price plus we had to put in a tip. We were told 2 weeks, however we just were able to pick our trees up after 4 weeks. No apology or anything. They said the kiln was broken and it took a long time apparently to get fixed. Also, they didn’t have any gold color paint for Christmas items. I told them 4 times that I wanted clear lights and they gave me color lights. Now it will take another week to get that changed out. If they even agree to do that. The owner seemed annoyed at us because we called to find out why it was taking so long."
"This place’s concept is AWESOME. We had a party of five, and one of the members wasn’t to keen on this place because they didn’t think they would like it; ended up LOVING it. The group enjoyed being able to get creative and also relax. The only downside was the number of options/the quantity of some of them. A lot of the things I wanted weren’t there, but on display. I had to scan the wall of pieces four times before I decided, so I wish there was more variety. I would definitely come again!"
"This was such an excellent time with my wife and my daughter. Our daughter is very very big into using her art easel with her paints at home. We were wanting to have her expand her horizons, starting her with canvas and pottery. We were pretty leery about the location, since it's in the gross Northwoods Mall. If you want to avoid walking through the mall, I suggest you park on the Dillard's side. My wife and I were very impressed with the inside of the location and the staff. Definitely like that there is not a fee added services and you also can just do it as a walk-in. The space is limited, so the only slight negative is the variety of pottery pieces isn't great. The process to actually paint together and use a supplies is truly painless and easy. The staff is very well educated and is detailed in a directions about what paints go with what type of art and they are very accessible to check on you and help if needed. We had our four-year-old and thankfully packed a snack. We were assuming that they would sell some type of refreshments/snacks. They did have some type of drinks, don't remember exactly what it was. The turnaround time for the pottery is a couple of weeks but you can pay a very reasonable fee to have it expressed done in a matter of days. My daughter had so much fun and we didn't even realize we were in there 2 hours. Will have to come back and do the canvas portion. We are looking forward to how the frog comes out of the oven!!"
"I have been a customer of Palmetto Clayground for YEARS. I love going and just spending hours creating things. I have done the glass work and the pottery. I have been in there by myself, with one or two others, and with groups of people. I have NEVER had a bad experience. I find I enjoy going by on days when I am not painting anything just to say hi to the staff and Kate, the manager. In this day and age it is nice to go somewhere and be treated like a friend. I recommend going and spending some time being creative!"
"Had an amazing time at Palmetto Clayground, I was celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and Kate and her staff went the extra mile for the bubble plate event we signed up for, and made the whole afternoon really special. We dropped off some cake and other items to help with celebrating the birthday! Kate was really helpful with giving the whole group instruction but also attending to individuals that needed more time. Every one of us were first-timers, and the event had a really nice and welcoming atmosphere! I'll definitely be making return trips in the future!"
