"Would not recommend this doctor's office. A front desk person said, people in wheelchairs could not get in well. (?!?) After filling out an application, we were told my grandma would be better off seeing an internist or geriatric specialist without explanation as to why. (to my knowledge there aren't any geriatric specialists in town) The nurse relaying the information did not know either but offered various explanations that didnt make sense. My grandma was currently seeing an internist with Regional and it wasn't going well due to the broken system Palmetto Proactive proposes to be the answer to (a doctor that doesn't spend much time with her, difficulty booking timely appointments) Went back and forth between both offices-front desk could not explain doctor's rationale. One nurse encouraged to go ahead and book an appointment anyway. I asked if the doctor could just call and explain, since the nurses answering the phone were in the dark, but this was not allowed. The nurse's solution was to book an appointment and pay the $80 for a consultation to speak directly with the doctor to have this cleared up. If there are certain types of patients these doctors don't see, it should be well articulated in their website and by front desk staff. The fee on the website is deceptive. It says $70/month for various membership services. The day of the appointment we were told its $140 for the first visit, which was not previously mentioned. I asked if if they would honor what the website says-the front desk person said yes. Then changed her mind. All in all a headache. Update: 1/27/2022 My family connected with Centerwell Senior Primary Care Physicians. The switch has been incredible in every way. The doctor is even happy to speak with us on the phone when need be. Very competent, professional, empathetic staff. Can't recommend highly enough!"
