Reviews of Piedmont Comprehensive Pain Management
"My experience here has been great over the 10+ years I've been a patient. People tend to be angry when they arrive at the place because they're in pain. I have a bulging disc for which I've been getting epidural injections for years. The treatments allow me to live a normal productive life. The staff have always been professional and helpful. Like most medical offices they are busy managing the ridiculous amount of paperwork required by the frigging insurance industry who are the true villains our society . I've had a great experience."
"Piedmont Comprehensive Pain Management had helped me in so many ways to be Pain free. All the staff honestly are the best and very caring. I appreciate everything they do from the front staff to the middle to the back. Will recommend to anyone. My parents go here as well. And a couple others I know. They will not disappoint. "Was referred to this pain management through the VA. The doctor I was seeing was nice. I was sent to have an MRI done, it took me from Oct 9-Nov 11 to get the MRI approved, because this office did not read the packet the VA sent. I had to call the pain management group to tell them how to do their job. From Nov 11- present no one will return my call or answer the phone. Once I called they said the individual was on the phone and to leave a message, so I did, still no call back. If you are referred to them, RUN."
"I didn’t even become a patient here and it was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and moved to SC. I was seeing pain management for years in WA state for CRPS, HEDS, a spinal cord stimulator & multiple rib surgeries. I received paperwork from this office to request records from my previous pain clinic and mailed them back. I called the office 2-3 weeks later just to follow up & ensure they received those for a new patient appointment. I spoke with Melinda and upon answering the she went into a monologue about how many documents could be received, what cannot be reviewed, the doctors are very busy and can’t look at too much. Literally was not why I was calling. When I clarified why I was calling she gave a very heavy sigh and went into how that wasn’t her job and reiterated how busy they are. I’m a nurse, I work closely with our referrals department at times and appreciate how busy they are, as am I as a nurse. However, I have NEVER treated a patient like this before. I told her I could sense some frustration and how I understand but it was not ok to speak to me like this. I eventually hung up the call as I do not HAVE to be a patient at their facility. She tried calling back two times but never left a VM. I guess if this office is so busy then she’s doing a great job deterring new patients."
"Was referred due to having RA @ 34 multiple cervical fusions and lower back pain and needed medication management and second opinion. Was never called and told nothing else could be done for me I guess when trying to find someone to help you and have a second opinion pain Management denies you if your young and not within there papered notes so Instead of investigating looking at the patient you turn them away and don’t even respond to them then when they call tirelessly then your Melinda lady is nasty when you ask a simple question and she responds it’s his office he can chose who he wants and who he doesn’t it he reads your chart notes from the prior pain clinic….. that’s the clinic me and surgeon wanted a second opinion from. Well he can’t do and feel he can’t help you anymore than what’s been done. Really there’s been no imaging of my lower back no nerve testing of my lower back no pain control medication adjustment or anything after my surgery except from my surgeon. So he could he chooses not to. I honestly don’t even want medications I want a treatment plan that works and one doctors that has control of all my medications like it’s supposed to be. I get Melinda but your nasty attitude towards kind people you should really feel ashamed when you go home at night to talk to people that way that are in pain left in the dark and thrown around like a freaking ping pong ball. And all they want is 5 min and someone to help them and if they can’t at least be kind. I’m glad I bit the bullet on this Office understand the hesitancy behind Pain Management, especially with the current pandemic and opioids but you’re also doctors who took the oats to help patient in pain at your job, quit looking at a chart and papers that other doctors wrote on bring patients in and look at them for yourself listen to them see what’s wrong with them. That’s what a second opinion is not going based on what a chart says. Then, if you feel they are not a good fit for your office dismiss them explain to them I cannot help you, but if you go back to this doctor, he will or let me point you in this direction but doing it in this manner is just wrong that’s why we have a problem that we have. Well, Melinda, I hope you have a wonderful day and I truly mean that because I do know how stressful your job is, but I truly hope you’re nicer to the next person than you were to me."
