Reviews of Redfern Health Center
"Open only on weekdays. I guess students somehow magically acquire immunity on the weekends to not fall sick at all. This ideally needs to be a 24/7 facility with walk-in appointments, given the size of the university. Even tiny clinics in my third-world country have those facilities despite such a humongous population."
"Anything you have to do here, first thing required is you need an appointment. The process is streamlined, but if someone has an emergency, the appointments can become a headache. If you have University's Health Insurance, better to visit Redfern first and then go somewhere else. The staff members are really helpful and caring. Various health advisories are also posted on the website from time to time. Diagnosis is good and treatment is good too."
"They get reimbursed from student insurance plans at a rate above their costs for any lab work they perform. DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO UNNECESSARY LABWORK. They are taking advantage of healthcare systems"
"To think as a sick student seeking medical attention, something I have to worry about at a healthcare facility within my school is someone talking down to me as if I’m not a human being @Heather. I’ve mentioned multiple times to multiple staff members that I don’t have insurance, as one would do at their first visit to a doctor’s office (even thought a visit is covered as Clemson forces you to pay the student fee), each with a reaction as though I didn’t belong in the building, simply because of my lack of coverage. Very weird feeling. I was forced to return as my symptoms had worsened over the weekend. Per the note on my profile from my last visit 3 days prior, “patient may return if symptoms persist or worsen”, the receptionist proceeds to interrogate me as if I’m lying about my symptoms, even before looking up my profile. Overall, most of my interactions with the staff showed how they have zero empathy and no respect for a patients health. I couldn’t be more disappointed that this is what my school offers as a health facility. The doctor was kind and I appreciate her help."
"My daughter is a freshman at CU. She reported to the center sick with a fever and was turned away. She was told she would have to provide COVID test results before being seen. That makes no sense, if they are the health center, why wouldn't they test her for COVID. She had strep throat and had a very difficult time getting an appointent off campus to recieve proper treatment. Untreated strep infection can be very serious. Students be aware!"
