"Carolina School of Massage & Wellness Center is more then just a massage. Every single LMT cares about your overall health and wants to see you live your best life!! If you are looking to improve your health and live a life free from aches and pains. You should book an appointment with a Licensed Massage Therapist today!"
"When I enrolled at Carolina School of Massage to obtain an LMT, it was the only option in the Upstate, but thankfully it isn't anymore, so I can warn you to go elsewhere. The owner Mei is manipulative and volatile, and she doesn't follow through on her word. When our class of 16 was shoved into a classroom half the size it should have been, we didn't have enough experienced instructors, and the general facility was noted to be subpar, we brought our concerns to the owner given she had such a large class size with a large tuition income for the school and should have been able to address some of the issues. She first promised to, but within a week, things were worse, Mei and her husband Tony were shouting at the class (caught on audio recordings by multiple students). They said we could withdraw with partial refunds and put in writing how much they owed each of us as we signed the paper to withdraw (8 in my class of 16 left that day. Ask about withdrawal rates, because the owners will tell you that they don't have a history of problems but do some research and you'll see they have manyyyy problems and students who decided not to put up with it.). She only paid 3 of the 8 students on the 30th day of the refund deadline the amount on the paper signed by the owner as owed to us. The other 5 of us were short changed and are having to go through the hassle of pursuing the issue in small claims court. Also, when we requested the return of the personal information in our files including SSNs, we were told that Mei had them in her personal possession off property, not secured somewhere at the school. Of note, Alicia Grier that posted a 5 star review 3 weeks ago after we withdrew is a massage instructor there despite only graduating a few months before us. Once she knew we were considering withdrawing she cried crocodile tears in front of the class begging us not to report her to the licensing board since you have to be a therapist for two years before you can be involved in hands-on instruction. Ownership put her in a pretty crummy position. Also there were 4 different front desk people in the 2 weeks I took classes there and there's a different one now. One of the ones who left disclosed they were never paid for their hours by the owner. Mei is a crafty, crooked business owner, and she's gotten away with it for years, because there were limited to no other options to get your LMT in the area. Mei didn't show up for 2 or 3 classes she was supposed to be teaching and the one class I did see her teach on day 3 she put 12 students in a couples room and massaged a client she had just roped into it with no music and no warning and told us we could eat our dinner in the room while we watched her. It was a completely inappropriate way to educate and one of many instances of unprofessionalism I witnessed from her within a short time. Look at the upkeep of the building, the outdated screw leg tables, bizarre decor, and contrast it with the Tesla she drives and evaluate for yourself if she values students' education or students' money. Don't give them a cent. You'll want it back and you'll have to fight for it. I am currently enrolled at another institution in the inaugural class and the contrasts could not be more obvious. There are better options in the Upstate now."
"I graduated with all the knowledge that I needed to be successful in the field of my dreams. The owners run the school as an intimate approach to learning. The reason I chose this school because of the one on one student to teacher ratio. They show such respect and caring. I am proud of who I am because of the intricate detail to learning I was provided. Highly recommend."
"I graduated from this school in May 2022. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and instructors that helped me through this journey! Curt Ballard, Cindy Fortner, Mei Li and Tony Trapasso, Marcia, Diana Lupanov, and Susan Wakeman all worked together to provide the students with the best material and are always ready to help with any questions. The school is flexible if students need certain modifications due to physical or religious reasons. They're an amazing team that each put in their hand to help my class graduate with flying colors. Also, I want to mention that after I graduated, I decided to apply to USC Upstate University and pursue a RN degree using my massage therapy license as a springboard to move up in the medical sphere. I would not have been admitted to university if I hadn't gone to this school first. The knowledge I gained in this school is also giving me a heads up in all my anatomy classes. Thanks again to all my friends here at Carolina School of Massage and Wellness Center!"
"I just graduated from Carolina School Of Massage And Wellness a week ago. The staff and instructors are absolutely amazing!! They guided me not only through schooling, but made sure I was set up to successfully pass my boards and obtain my license all within my graduation period. Mei Li, Karen, Curt and the rest of the staff, and my fellow students were absolutely amazing!"
