Reviews of Center for Health and Well-Being
"Does not feel like much care is put into working at this place. Students are on a fast paced schedule and having to sit through a call list for 5 minutes before you find a number to call a representative, only to remain on hold for what feels like an eternity, does not make sense. Moreover, the lack of interest/care compounded with an overall negative attitude on the other end of the phone call certainly doesn’t help either. These are easily mendable changes if the health center simply prioritized students and their issues like they say they do."
"(Unfortunately you can't leave 0 stars) I spoke with a representative yesterday in regard to cancelling my appointment, due to the fact that I was stuck behind a train and would not have been able to make it to my appointment in time. After speaking with this representative I was told that it was "good" I was cancelling, because they wouldn't have been able to do my requested appointment virtually as I had booked. This call was more than an hour before my appointment. This morning, I get an email stating I have a $20 cancellation fee, for not cancelling my appointment within two hours before my appointment. I find it exceptionally convenient that this representative didn't mention anything in regard to a cancellation fee. I completely understand there being a fee for a no-call, no-show appointment, but this is exceptionally elitist, classist behavior. As a student who entirely supports myself financially, this $20.50 fee is absolutely disgraceful. The representative I spoke with should have made me aware of the potentiality for this fee. Or, it should have been included in the extensive emaiIs I received after booking. I have been a student at UofSC for three years now, and this is the first I am ever hearing of this cancellation fee. The health center is horrible. This will be my LAST interaction with them. I hope none of them find professional work after this, being as they are overwhelmingly rude to patients, and do not care about student well being in the slightest. If you are in the top 1%, they will treat you with lots of kindness. But if not, do not even bother."
"I wish I could give zero stars, my service was absurdly unhelpful and the staff member was rude while addressing me. The health website does not work properly forcing me to use the messaging function, putting my spring semester schedule in the hands of people who could care less about my well-being. Terrible experience."
"These are some of these most difficult/rude people to talk to about anything, especially if you have questions. I dread having to do anything regarding the student health services, because they have people in their offices who are so rude and so unhelpful like what is the point of them even being there if they aren’t willing to be helpful to students who are paying loads of tuition… also, why send an email to me including “please contact our office with questions… at 803…” and answer stating that you aren’t taking questions?!"
"I have gone there several times throughout my graduate studies for various types of muscle injuries. Every time that I have gone to the center, I was always well received and got an excellent treatment for my injuries. Place was always neat, clean, filled with staff who were nothing but professional. I could not complain about anything other than struggling sometimes to find an available spot. Either way, in my book that's a 5/5."
