"Was buying it until I dug out list of actual ingredients on their website (it is hard to find; after you read it, you'll see why) Vinil acetate? And you advertise it as "green"?! Actual ingredjents are NOT that far from Lowe's zero VOC paints, and price is triple."
"The varnish I ordered worked great, but the wood stain was incredibly blotchy and uneven and we had to sand it off and use a different brand. When I contacted customer service, they were incredibly difficult to work with and just kept interrogating me about what process the professionals we hired(!) were using and claiming it couldn't have been their stain and that the team must have done something different than described. I am still trying to get a refund for my item."
"I ordered 4 gallons of ecos paints after thorough discussion with company rep prior to ordering. All but the dark base were fine, minimal odor, cover as expected - takes two coats for good wall coverage. The dark base semi gloss came with significant color separation that continued with use and resulted in variances in color results, yellowing as i progressed. It smelled foul initially - like wet particle board and worsened over time to a point of being intolerable before it lessened (about a week) Coverage was awful 4+ coats even after priming. I called ECOS 4x's. Answers were their paint smelled differently than other brands, dark colors go on like stains and can take up to 6 coats to cover, i should have primed - they sent me color based primer on call number three no charge. I wasn't stirring the paint adequately so had the color separation issue and that I should not have let project sit for 5 months between start and current phone call. Sorry - I broke my dominant wrist. Blaming me for how the paint functioned. Unfortunately I was not pleasant on the phone for the 4th time with half a gallon of unusable paint left and cabinets in 4 colors. He got an ear full. The rep decided the foul odor had to be "bad" paint, sent me a replacement quart to finish and refunded the gallon. thank you for that. The new quart was as the original should have been and was also true to color so did not match any of the colors on the cabinets ( darker color in picture) Not wanting to completely repaint 13 feet of cabinets which would have taken more than a quart anyway, I opted to color match the best of the color with Behr, it will smell some but nothing like this had and it is not really the color I wanted on the cabinets but these cabinets are not easy to paint, this has been an awful experience for me. I truly wanted to use a friendly product. Word to the wise, open all cans immediately, check for separation, check for odor - correct stuff has a hint of paint type chemical smell, check the color ,and refuse to let them talk you into using an inferior product. This can would have gotten a minus star number, 3 stars reflects how all of the gallons functioned. Addendum: My daughter thought the wall paint looked blotchy but in a planned way ( not my plan) I have to correct my original statement above and say it took 3 full coats and 2 gallons to paint 16x16 room with touch ups in areas, the finish is almost a flat versus eggshell. This last wall had an unpleasant odor that gave me a headache. I am staying with Behr or valspar from now on"
"I was on the hunt for a wood protectant that was both friendly to the environment and required little maintenance with good protections. I found ECOS paints from a website that ranked wood protectants based on performance and natural ingredients. ECOS was one of the top rated products. The customer service has been fantastic, the product lines are extensive and my overall experience is definitely a 5 star rating. ECOS, thanks for all that you do!"
