"I heard NOTHING but bad things about this school, I was very hesitant about putting my daughter in this school but, without much of a choice she had to go and I don't regret it one bit. The teachers are OUTSTANDING. As long as you're involved they will do everything possible to help your child succeed...even when your child doesn't seem to care. Mr. Greene is awesome, Mrs. Crawford, Mrs Smoke, Mrs. Williams (6th grade SS teacher), Mrs. Calabra(6th grade LA) and that is just to name a few. Very supportive team."
"One of the best Middle schools in Savannah, Mr. Magwood and Ms. Hardy have transition Mercer to be very successful along with there team of teachers and other staff members. Ms.Murray is also excellent and proactive! Go Raiders"
"Currently a student here. The school experience may vary, but the staff is sh*tty. I moved from up north, and I was moved up as a sophomore. But clearly, because they claim its not their "job" to do anything, I was put back in ninth grade. Lol I mean, "Groves is Great"? It's terrible. To save your child/Children from major depression and b.s, don't think about putting your child into this school system."
"Nothing except kids that bully and theaten each other. There are fights all the time and kids are so hateful. There is one man teacher who forces students to sit prefectly and is hateful towards everyone. Also I've noticed kids with disabilities are not allowed to stay in the same room as everyone else, at lunch nor class. It's probably the worst school you could ever go to our send your kids."
"I graduated from groves last year. And while some of the students weren't the best, that doesn't change the things the school offered. There were great teachers, administration, counselors and classes. Each year yes things went down with the amount of violence that goes on in school. How ever you can not blame the school at all for that! The people to blame for any violence happening in the school are the parents who are responsible for teaching their children when to fight and not to fight. I've seen most of the fights and they were so petty! Mainly females fighting over boys or something and the male's would just pick on each other and then throw fists when they take it too far! Idk bout gangs but why would the students join a gang? Or make one? People dnt just get into one like that out of the blue. Basic psychology, something drove them to that point of being apart of something that could kill them or harm them. And it's not the schools fault. Parents should be raising their children properly and teaching them not to fight or join a gang. Now the school has a responsibility to show the students what could happen to them if they participated in such violence. The school itself is old and may not look great. Especially the restrooms! But who destroys the restrooms and leaves it a mess everyday?! The students! And you leave your trash for the janitors to clean up! Don't go blaming the school or the administration for the schools issues! Students have a responsibility as well and they should also be held accountable for their actions and mistakes! Do you even realize how poorly funded schools are being now a days?! And with the next few years who knows if they will be funded anymore! Quit your crying over the negative things when there are positives to be pointed out as well. I also made the best of friends there. Met really great people. And I will never forget those times I had with them. You should think of what's important about the school and it's positives instead of focusing on just violence. If you don't have a clear good argument then please do not judge or assume! Period."
