Reviews of Nexton KinderCare
"This place is an absolute joke. The staff is absolutely terrible, they couldn’t care less about your kids. The director is even worse, very up tight and pretentious. She definitely thinks she’s above something. She can’t keep a steady staff. This place and other Kindercare’s have MULTIPLE LAWSUITS!!(chemical burns, gashes in a child’s head) PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT AND LOVE THEM!! Do your research before you think about this place."
"When I think of safety I think of Kindercare in Nexton. Now I know things happen, kids are a walking accident but Im.l always kept up to date with my child's behavior and well being. The staff is so caring, I hope they know how much I appreciate their daily dedication. ❤️"
"My sister attends this wonderful daycare and absolutely loves it ! Each day I am more & more intrigued about hearing what she’s learned! She knows how to count in not only Spanish but, French as well! I am completely wow’d at the curriculum. I would’ve never imagined that she’d be teaching me a few things. Got to love it."
"We absolutely love KinderCare so far. We started about a year ago at KC and our son was developmentally behind. The toddler teachers worked so well with him and the Director, Andrea went out of her way to talk to us and ask how we were doing etc. Since then he has moved up to the toddler class and we absolutely love his teachers. Each morning when we get there, his teachers welcome us at the door. Everyone at KC is so friendly and caring and will listen to any and all questions or concerns. We are very thankful for the staff at KC. Andrea does a great job as the Director there and we would highly recommend to any family or friend of ours."
"I was so excited for my son to join KinderCare, but came to regret it. It started in June, when the gym was converted to a classroom without input from the parents, and both of my son's teachers quit within a two-week period. Thus began a revolving door of teachers in my son's class. These teachers didn't adhere to curriculum or encourage potty training, wouldn't update the app about activities, and my son began resisting going to class. He was a bit of a biter before but it seems the shuffle caused an increase in aggression. One day I received multiple slips and arranged a meeting with the director regarding my concerns in an attempt to have an approach to reinforce at home. I was told this was developmentally normal, there was no point in even disciplining at home because he wouldn't understand and make the connection to the action at school. They brought an assistant director from another location to assist with the school, as they began experiencing greater staffing issues at this point. She encouraged potty training, tried upholding standards, and her actions in my son's class were helping his behavior. She was asked to resign after a couple weeks. The director's daughter was hired as a teacher in my son's class. I felt she did not really care to apply herself to the class and the app uploaded a photo which showed her slumped over on her cell phone. The photo was sent to another teacher who then addressed the matter with her. Yet another assistant teacher came and went. I was tired of the lack of care and organization within his class so inquired regarding his moving up in the new school year. I was told they didn't believe so, but they would let me know. Then, the next class's teacher mentioned how excited she was to have my boy in her class! Only to be told the Thursday before the new year that he was not in fact moving up. My son had a bite that broke the skin. I was told to come pick him up and, concerned, went to the director's office to discuss what could be done. We talked regarding observed behaviors and she mentioned that perhaps he could be eligible for therapy. We scheduled a pediatrician appointment, got the referral to OT, had him evaluated, and was told he was indeed eligible. This process took about a month, only just getting the eligibility notice last Friday.Oh, and that teacher we were excited about? She quit too. On Monday I was told by Jacob that my son once more had bitten and broken the skin and needed to pick him up. I received an email stating my son had two weeks to show "marked improvement" or he would be kicked out. The email also framed the situation as if we hadn't made efforts to assist, as if all communications and attempts were on the side of the school. I replied with description of the efforts on our part and what we had in process - the OT wouldn't be able to attend until next Thursday afternoon and it felt there wasn't enough time so I asked for an additional week. I further asked him to define "marked improvement" so it wasn't an arbitrary measure. This communication was both in the app and in response to the email. Jacob never responded (and, as you'll see below, likely never read it either). My son was not allowed to attend school Tuesday. He did attend Wednesday, and did get a bite slip. Thursday we kept him home, as the school sent one of its increasingly common urgent messages regarding staff shortages that morning and offered credits to those who kept their children home. It was Thursday afternoon at 4:21 that a voicemail was left for me stating they decided they were disenrolling my son. This morning my SO went to pick up my son's items and Jacob mentioned not knowing about my son's OT or sensory necklaces saying since he wasn't in the meetings before he had no knowledge. SO then inquired regarding oweds funds and was told a generic answer regarding crediting the account. I told SO to go back because how could we be credited if he was no longer enrolled? SO returned to find the building locked. No one would even come talk to him. SAD. Oh and they called the cops on him."
