"First day. Teachers are very dedicated. So far so good."
"My granddaughter is a student at Summerville Elementary and we have been very happy and impressed at how much she has learned! We love her teachers, the curriculum, and the school's administration."
"I go to this school and so does my little sister. Her teacher is very nice but mine is not.Mrs.Baxter is always mean to other students. The other fith grade teacher Mrs.mallard called another student a little brat.I recommend newington elementary school."
"I had an incounter with Ms. Dibble. The principal of this school, and id have to say it was unpleasant. She was rude and disrespectful. Telling me that ny child riding the bus is a privilege, as in she is doing us a favor.. When i complained about the bus not showing up for 3 days. She made the situation worse. The lady in the front office has a nasty little attitude as well. My daughters first grade teacher is absolutly amazing so i cant say the entire school is bad, but Dibble doesnt need to be a principal anywhere."
"It's been about 3 and a half years since I went to SES but due to it being registration I want to warn all the parents out there, that unless your white, have a high income and are basic/uncreative/unoriginal and only play sports. That your child wont be considered a human. why? You may ask, well i'll tell you. My real name is Rachel and ever since 2nd grade I was treated like crap and mine and others education from kindergarten through 5th grade was not carefor,I am in extra/special classes because of this. In second grade We had a teacher named Miss Swanson, she was one of the most idiotic teachers and to say she was "stupid" would be a under statement-how she was qualified to be a teacher is beyond me. Later towards the middle of the year she left/retired IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR. and for the first couple months of her leaving we had subsitutes who didn't do anything but just let us watch movies. Then finally we got an actual teacher, her name was miss Bowling. She was very young and I don't think she shouldve been a teacher either, the kids were TERRIBLE with her and she just couldn't handle it and to be honest I think she just gave up on teaching us. So lets just say I missed my entire 2nd grade year and i'm still recovering from it academically. Now lets go back to when I said unless you're uncreative and come from and higher income family, etc, you're not considered human here. Let me tell you why this is true, all throughout my 4 years of being there I was obsessed with vampires, the color black, art and reading. i was told by my counseler how I should like "hannah montana" "wear more color" and more (her name was miss harlow and I have no idea if she still works there but she was a terrible, judgemental counseler none the less) ANYWAYS I one time wore black lipstick and was taken into the bathroom a teacher (I think her name was miss yahoo, some weird name Like that I don't remember haha) and she wiped off my lipstick telling me that " I don't need to be wearing that" or "i'm too young" etc. NOW IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY I SAW NOTHING IN THE RULE BOOK ON WHY I CAN'T WEAR LIPSTICK. I was a small child I WAS BEING A CHILD. And this school decided to smash my confidence and creativity like a bug. Now the teachers I had were besides swanson/bowling was Miss white/eubanks and Millard. I did not like miss white becaude again she was not qualified to be a teacher, eubanks was very weird and only seemed to like the male students and she also treated me poorly and miss millard was probably the only half decent teacher I had. Now the princibal at the time was Miss Dibble and in all honesty again HOW WAS SHE A PRINCIPAL?? She knew nothing and she was very ditzy NO OFFENSE like I said just giving my honest review. And also during my time of being in school I got EXTREMLY bullied and None.of.the.teachers.cared. i got in fights, name called, etc. and it's like none of the teachers cared. Let me stress this enough IF YOUR KIDS GETTING BULLIED THIS SCHOOL WILL NOT CARE EVEN A TINY BIT. We used to have a song we sange after the national anthem called "it's a great school after all" AND HUN NO IT WAS NOT. Talk about brainwashing kids, right? Now to conclude this review Spann is just across the street, don't send your kids here please, they'll end up horrible human beings."
