Reviews of Prisma Health General Surgery–Greer
"I made an appointment with general surgery and was seen by Dr. Patel. She was direct and informative in my options for treatment. She did a minor surgery (cyst removal). Her and her team were kind and efficient. I've never had a single issue with any of my Prisma specialists."
"Stephen James Mittelstaedt is beyond lazy. I was sent from my drs office for gallbladder surgery. He did not feel my abdomen. He didn’t ask many questions. Just told me I will die from gallbladder surgery (outpatient surgery) because of my weight. I talked with fat people I know who have had it done with no issue. I can’t find anything online that says I would have severe effects from gallbladder surgery. He claimed to not have access to ultrasound I was given. It was an entire prepared speech on tell me to lose weight and eat less, weight loss surgery. I’m fat. But I have been starving myself for 15 years. I’m in treating for my severe complicated restrictive eating disorder. I tend to not eat a lot to the point I’m being sent to a long term program to make me eat. “You have the issues are of a 50 year old. Eat less.” I definitely chose to have rheumatoid arthritis (genetic) and fibromyalgia (trauma and genetic factors). He told me to lose weight as quick as possible even though I would get more gallstones. His after appointment notes noted things he never asked or checked. He never felt my abdomen. I told him my bowel movements are very not normal and described them. He noted them as normal. I was holding a panic attack during the appointment, visibly anxious and he put I was normal. He didn’t ask anything about the psychriatric notes he made, which all are false. Every thing he noted he did not even ask about. He did not listen to anything I said and repeated. He walked in told me to lose weight and walked out. He is lazy and I do not recommend anyone work with him if you’re over 100 pounds."
"went to see this office last year, and while it took several months to get through the process, a procedure was scheduled about 6 months ago, for July 26, 20201, it was moved to the 20th of July, 20201. On the 13th of July i received an email from blue cross blue shield that a pre-authorization had been submitted, I wondered what for, when i checked it was for this procedure next Tuesday and they reported that it would take 15 days to get the approval. That really bothered me since they had months to get this done, by Friday we finally called BCBS ad got our rep on the line with the doctors office rep, Sharon, who was disrespectful and rude to my wife. Now let me make this clear, NO ONE treats my wife like this, NO ONE. since BCBS did not call us by 4pm on Friday we called the office and cancelled, I was not going to risk the financial burden of this situation because of the office unprofessionalism."
"Dr. Stephen here removed my gallbladder June 2020 and since then I have not been in pain and I was back to myself driving and all 4 days later. Small scars and didn't need anything but 1 tylenol after surgery. The check ups went well too. Extremely professional during this pandemic and safe!"
"Do NOT have your surgery here. My surgeon was Dr. Gettes. I tried to convince my doctor I had endometriosis (which I did) but doctor gettes went in, completely missed all the endometriosis, took out my appendix, and left a scar in my lower abdomen from hip to hip. They didn't even tell me that they messed up and cut me on accident! It added to my pain. I went to Greenwood to see a GYN. So because of GHS general surgery, I had to have 2 surgeries in 3 months and my GYN had to clean up the mess that GHS general surgery left."
