Reviews of Havenwood Behavioral Health
"Anytime you are in this type of facility and feel as though you're being held against your will. You tell them you want to file a HABEAS CORPUS. I guarantee you you'll be out the next day."
"My stay here was great. I unfortunately was admitted by no choice of my own. I’ve been to several other facilities before and was petrified because every single other time I was treated like I wasn’t human. Im so glad I got sent here. This is the first time I left a facility in better shape than when I went in. The staff and Drs there really encouraged me. Dr Lee motivated me to work on something I’d been worrying about for a while, and I think I’ll be doing that soon. I wish I remembered the other ladies name but she has such a soothing voice and really encouraged me to have some compassion for myself. I do wish I had made some more progress, but I did leave with an idea of what I needed to change to help better myself. I hope I never have to be admitted anywhere again but if I do, I hope it’s here. They seem to truly care. I would recommend this to anybody who is in need."
"I was admitted on 5/13 and released 5/17 and was wrongfully admitted and the staff was awful especially the nurses and doctors. I had alcohol Poisoning and was sent here by Spartanburg regional and was basically forced to admit I was suicidal and tried to overdose on medication and alcohol. The worst one was Dr. Lee telling me he was going to keep me here just because he “legally” can. Do not send your family here or anybody you know. I saw them abuse patients and make fun of them. How is that suppose to help anybody if they are being mocked? I was never diagnosed with any treatment just told what was wrong with me which isn’t true. I don’t not recommend this place!!! Zero stars!!! Also the building itself was very dirty and were many spiders in my room. My roommate was hallucinating and they did nothing to help her but drag her by her arm."
"Absolutely awful. The majority of the staff is extremely unprofessional and disorganized. You barely see your doctor and psychiatrist, and when you do, it’s just a 5-10 minute session of them asking whether you’re suicidal or homicidal. If you need something, you LITERALLY have to ask 3-7 times until they actually do it. My friend stood there for 2 minutes to ask a question and all 3 staff members at the table completely ignored him because they wanted to gossip. I saw them make direct eye contact with him and continue to gossip. That was utterly disrespectful and they should be fired. I also met a woman who said she’s been to 3 other centers and this is by far her worst one. No one felt like they were getting any help. A nurse used the word “retarded” twice when speaking to us as a group. Mind you, this place is also a center for autistic children. You’d think she’d know better. The building is run down, no maintenance, showers flood all over the floor, SUPER cold bedrooms, and poorly painted patches all over the walls. The only good things that came out of it were making some cool friends and meeting my therapist, Sheryl. She legitimately cared for me, my treatment, and my future. As for everything else- this was the most awful experience of my life. Just seems to be an effort to take as much insurance money (especially veterans) as possible. If you love yourself even just a little bit, PLEASE for the love of God go somewhere else. You might not be crazy when you come in but you will be when you get there."
