"James and crew at Marine Canvas of Charleston recently completed work on my boat. From start to finish, this outfit was incredibly professional and personal. We were very impressed. They take pride in their work, and it shows. I was shocked to see another recent review, and after some inquisition, it is very clear that Michael R., owner of A-1 Construction Services of SC, LLC. created his own misfortune. This recent review by Michael appears entirely off base and does not capture the character of James and his team. This is even more apparent after researching the reviews of Michael’s own business, with a 1.8/5 rating with the BBB. Of note, one customer review stated that Michael had an altercation with a female customer and felt it necessary to use profanity towards her. It is sad to see an honest and reputable small business receive such defamation from someone who is clearly trying to take advantage. I strongly encourage the review by Michael to be overlooked. "Be cautious. James accepted a repair contract to replace 3 small sections of vinyl as well as replacing velcro strips that had worn on 6 canvas panels. The job was accepted the last week in October. The required down payment was made the same weekend. James has never returned to the boat to start the work. He missed the original deadline agreed to for completion which was New Years. He requested an extension of 2 weeks to get the work completed guaranteeing completion. He never showed and the work was never even started. When we requested our down payment be returned James claimed it was non refundable as he had expenses. We have been forced into seeking legal remedies for a resolution."
