"Pretty expensive and missing saltwater hobby basics like cycled live rock. Edit: every store in Charlotte and bigger cities offer small chunks of live rock they’ve cycled in their system to help start a new tank. This method is far superior to single-strain bacteria from bottles, and results in a larger diversity of bacteria that also help with phosphates, etc. Dry rock and pre-seeded rock will work, but it is far less effective and results in a more brittle ecosystem. Adding a small chunk of live rock from an established tank is the #1 recommended way to jump start a new tank, even with all the modern chemicals."
