Reviews of Paul Mitchell The School Greenville
"My first time experience going to Paul Mitchell School in Greenville SC was this past Monday for one all over color. I was called by the student whom didn’t introduce herself, I had to ask her her name. As she asked me questions and the teacher over her came over, I emphasized I wanted a soft natural brown not dark … teacher seemed to understand. Well it came out almost black. Not even. When I got home roots lighter than ends. I also saw several areas the gray wasn’t covered. And color was left on 35 minutes. The student didn’t rinse hair well, had to do back to sink. I even had color spots on temple and forehead, I noticed when I got home. I called Monday evening and the girl on phone, was very nice, said a lead team leader or teacher would call me within a few days. It’s Friday and haven’t heard from anyone. I already got my hair fixed. I hated it as well as my husband. The girl asked how service was when I paid I said good but inside I wasn’t happy. The girl who did it stood by me so felt embarrassed for her if I said I wasn’t happy. Her professionalism was not there at all. I’m sorry for a bad review. I didn’t want to have to do this. But since haven’t heard from them, well here I am. All I want is my money back. Oh and they charged for two bowls and she said she didn’t use all the second bowl. If you go for senior day only the first bowl is 35%off. Thats silly too. But whatever. There’s more but that’s it. You get my drift."
"A big shout-out to Jenna at the Greenville location.Jenna did a superb job of shaping my hair and -- using skillful layering and texturizing - making sure that everything stays nicely bevelled and neatly in place. Jenna is very talented and will do super well in her future career."
"This review stems from my visit on October 13, 2023. I have been frequenting Paul Mitchell for over the past 6-7 years. I continue to go there because of the relaxer price . There has been some good experiences but more bad. For starters out of the 6-7 years I have been going to Paul Mitchell for relaxers not once have I had a black student assigned to apply my relaxer (coincidence?). I was told from the very beginning, they are all learning and students are randomly assigned unless you 'specifically" request a student by name. Most black females grow up doing relaxers without any formal training and pretty much know how to apply a relaxer. I seem to have students appointed to do my relaxer who have no clue or training as to what to do. From wondering if my hair should be washed before applying the relaxer (like the perm process) to barely applying any product (not saturating with relaxer which means the relaxer doesn't take). The last few times have been the worst, from Paul Mitchell not having the products in stock to wash the relaxer out so a substitute was used to not having product for a protein treatment, no products to wrap black hair (wrap lotion nor wrap strips. Only the white neck strips) Over the years, I have came to the conclusion, they do not stock products or carry a line of products for black clientele hair care or styles. Today, I was told there was no semi-permanent color and the shampoo bowls were clogged. The water in the 1st shampoo bowl was up to my head while the relaxer was being rinsed so I was moved to another bowl and the second one did the same. Paul Mitchell, is thought of in high regard, please do better."
"A complete lost customer. My stylist was AMAZING, however the instructor Allison was very unkind and dishonest. She hovered an exorbitant amount of time over my stylist so unkindly I felt uncomfortable for 3 hours in her presence. The comments to my stylists were not once kind and I left feeling horrible for my stylist The instructor quoted me for a service then DOUBLED the price AT THE END . When I questioned the amount I was told she was too busy with other students ( I was the last client for the last 75 minutes of my visit) to correct my stylist or inform me the service was different from the quote during the time it was happening. However she was aware at the end because she informed me she knew my stylist had used extra services to cause the DOUBLE price. The lack of disrespect , monitoring of her students or honesty from Allison should heed anyone from using the services. If my stylist had not been experienced I may not have any hair. In the future I will wait until my stylist graduates and she can have honest support to provide me with amazing hair care."
"I had a great experience with Adriana! I got a shampoo, deep condition, blow dry, flat iron, and cut and my hair feels so soft! The amount of hair I have did not scare her and my scalp feels so clean (best shampoo I’ve had in a long time)! Def would recommend her!"
