"I've bought, pawned and sold gold jewelry with pawnshops for years. I've found their prices are right in line with other pawnshops, maybe even a little better. I've found their dollar amounts on loans to be fair as well if not better. I would recommend them without any hesitation. If you deal with pawn shops ... it is what it is... a short term loan solution. You'll receive about 20% of the original price of the item. It's not designed to be a dollar for dollar trade. As far as sales people, again I wonder what kind of expectations someone may be bringing to the table. No one is going to enjoy hearing that they can only get about a 20% loan value from an item of real worth. Realistically it should only be used as last resort. It's a high interest ( about 25% ) short term loan solution. Buy your stuff back out or you'll lose."
