About the Business

M2 Lumber is a general contractor and store located at 110 Brick House Road in Laurens, South Carolina. Teaming up with local YouTube star Jon from Lincoln Street Woodworks, we have created an educational video on what to expect when shopping for lumber from a local sawmill. We are excited to offer woodshop classes for beginners to intermediate levels, focusing on hands-on experience, education, practical skills, and safety. "I bought a beautiful oak piece for my home decor, such a reasonable price. I will 100% go back to purchase, so very knowledgeable, creative, and willing to help. I will post a after picture when my project is completed."
"Prices are amazing and the staff is incredible. I took an epoxy class to pick up a new skill and would highly recommend their classes. Already signed up for another! Great selection too!"
"I finished M2 Lumbers Epoxy class yesterday, and I really enjoyed it! I personally always get nervous attending any type of class, but Matt and Larry create a very relaxed, no stress environment. They took time to answer our questions, (in my case, many questions), they worked with each of us through the epoxy process, and did a good job teaching us. I left feeling confident that I could take on a project of my own. I chose the option to coat the piece in Urethane, since I want to use it as a top for a end table, but here is a picture of it after it was sanded and ready for finishing. I'll post a picture after it is finished. Matt and Larry, thank you for such a great class! I hope to attend more in the future."
"Took the resin charcuterie board class, had an amazing time. Mr. Matt is super knowledgeable and patient when teaching you through the steps of the project. Have recommended to friends and family and hope to take another class again soon!"
"I had a wonderful experience taking the resin class with Matt at M2 Lumber! We arrived the first day and started by selecting a piece of wood for our project. There were hundreds of pieces available, with highly varied looks. Anything from smooth with a uniform grain, to spalted and worm-holed, to highly textured. After selecting wood and sizing them to fit our molds, we cleaned any bark or debris from the surface and edges. I had a fun piece which required me to pick wood dust from dozens of worm holes (I even found the dried worm in one hole!). Next, we prepared, colored and poured our resin. This was a fun process in which we got to choose our own colors and even make custom mixes to our liking. The resin dried for a week before we returned for the next class. Week 2 consisted of removing the pieces from the forms, planing, sanding, and finishing the surface. This was all all-around great experience. Everything that was needed was provided, and the class size was perfect to allow interaction but still leave plenty of 1 on 1 help and teaching. I'd 100% recommend taking a class with M2 Lumber! Other classes are available on their website as well."
